Do you think a program such Iran's nuclear militarization, can turn on a dime and make this defector's information irrelevant - after just one year?

You need to go back and do some more reading on global nuclear programs before you start spouting off so obnoxiously.

If this defector is/was in the higher echelons of Iran's NRP, then he is going to have a lot of specific knowledge, as well as more general, to share with the US. It has the potential to prove invaluable.

If he were to defect, why take a year?

One possibility is that he feared retaliation by Iranian regime operatives in the US, and had to seek assurances by the US govt. for his and his familes safety. Didn't the US close down several regime controlled mosques and a sky-scraper in NY last year?

I'm not suggesting I know whether this scientist is going to provide reliable information, just that there are reasonable explanations as to why he may have originally refused or been unsure whether to provide any supposed information.

I don't know if the CIA kidnapped him or not. I know that this may sound like propaganda, but I assure you that I am 100% against Israeli invasion of Gaza and attacks against Iran.

You may think that the CIA kidnapped him, which is a plausible scenario. I think the man could have went on a "pilgrimage" so that he may get away from the Irani government. He could have used that as a ploy to get away. If he would have resigned from his position, do you think the president of Iran would have let him get away?

I think both stories are plausible, which is why it is very hard to determine the truth. I understand that the CIA has been associated with some nefarious acts before, but Iran isn't so innocent themselves. They have past history with committing assaults on their citizens, why would their top nuclear physicist be any different?

Well it will keep the peoples mind off of the economic problems and it will make it easier under patriotism to pass laws and controls on the economy (higher taxes, cuts in this or that etc. etc.) if theres a war on, remember WWII thats what helped to get us out of the depressionl.

If you can't put two, and two together, I really don't know what to tell you, but anyway, it isn't just the U.S. who doesn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons; most of the countries in the world don't want the Iranian regime to have nuclear weapons and for a good reason....

As I said before, it is not only about this Iranian scientist. There are many people, and several members who just want to believe whatever they want to believe no matter what.

I have seen, and experienced first hand how some members, and even non-members in these forums would claim, and or imply that for example I am not telling the truth about the country where I was born, Cuba....

I have seen others ignore, and dismiss the stories, and warnings from defectors of the former U.S.S.R., and China among others just because these people don't want to believe the truth, they just want to make their own "truth"....

Some people just want to remain ignorant, and they just want to believe what "they think" is happening in places that they have never even set foot on.

And I have seen just as many, if not more people who will swallow what the CIA tells them hook, line, and sinker. This isn't about members making up their own truths, this is about the truths that become evident over time. You believe what you want, and you can even be a CIA believer if you want, but to me they have lost ALL credibility- and ESPECIALLY when it comes to Iran.

Ummmmm, I say he's a double agent, Iran told him to defect to give the U.S. Military wrong information on the Iranian military site's. So when the U.S./Israel attacks, they will destroy the wrong targets.

This scientist who defected is not the first eviendece that the world has about what the Iranian regime has been doing...

Haven't people realised by now that the Chinese, the Russian regimes, and some others have been arming, and helping countries like Iran, and Iraq to get the U.S. and other western countries to attack those pawns like Saddam Hussein?

The Chinese military even published a book on how to wage war against the west, and the U.S. and in a book written in 1999 the book mentions the use of terrorists, such as Bin Laden, to attack targets like the WTC. It also mentiosn the use og hackers, attacking the economy, and other tactics.

To the Socialist/Communist leaders a war with the U.S. is inevitable, that is unless they can change the west to accept the terms of the Socialists/Communists.

These Socialist/Communist leaders have been playign chest, and for decades have been planning, and slowly implemented measures to attack the west, and the U.S.

Their plan has been so successful that people who ahve been indoctrinated into their way of thinking, on the Socialist/Communist line, have been introduced in seat of power in the U.S., and other countries.

I hope to God you're wrong Sapien82, but I have a nagging doubt that it could possibly play out like this (I live in China, so please don't label me as some sort of Anti-Red alarmist).

SCO could be a reaction to the Bush presidency, but I think it's more likely that the Bush terms were used as an excuse by Putin and his Chinese counter-part to develop a response to NATO.

Despite the fact that the US started their programme back in the 60's and all the way through till the mid 70's, before the Russians took over after the couup which replaced the US Puppet shah.

This is more of the same as saying saddam hussein had WMD's simply because the US had sold him some - which were then pretty much left to rot after being used a couple of times.

So, again the US supplies itself with the excuse to attack another sovereign nation.

I'd also like you to provide proof for the "many times" iran has threatened to destroy Israel - I know of one which has been so thoroughly debunked it's a wonder people still keep harping on about it.
