Why do my relatives insist we're descended from Scottish Royalty? Because it sounds good at family gatherings. Why do so many Americans insist they're descended from "A Cherokee princess"? Again, same deal.

Ever considered that perhaps Obama isn't lying, but that he's just wrong? As in, factually incorrect?

"A member of our family helped liberate Auschwitz" isn't very big, as far as family tall tales go. I knew a guy who insisted that his grandfather invented television, and that Thomas Edison stole the idea from the guy. Nevermind that Thomas Edison had no role in television at all... that was the story.
