But you don't Have to HAVE car insurance. No one is forcing you to drive. Its still a choice unlike the health care bill. Before the bill I had a choice, private pay and holistic medicine. I choose NOT to have health insurance, even though I could have had it.

Maybe alternative medicine is an option that works for you but be realistic and admit it isn't the cure for everything. Often, alternative medicine isn't even based on sound science. Are you saying we should take placebos instead... because alternative medicine isn't much more effective than placebos in some cases. I'm not trying to knock whatever floats your boat, but consider the fact that alternative medicine costs money too. Depending on someone's problem and needs, alternative medicine can be very expensive too, and that's without the modern assurance of science. There are Medical Doctors with scientific knowledge, who can save Americans in the USA right now, if those Americans could be granted the right to go see those doctors .

Think about it this way, if you had been under the USA's old private insurance only option you would have been denied coverage a long time ago due to preexisting conditions. If you had Health insurance executive kind of money, maybe you'd be able to afford those fantastic medical services with your litany of conditions.

How is getting gallstones a preexisting condition man ,it comes from the sh-te in the food we are now subject eat full of preservatives ,

^ I wonder what "Holistic" medicine you would use for Anesthetic if you were in an accident and had to have an operation ??
Also what "holisitc" medicine would you use for a blood transplant if you needed it???

Most costs associated with care come from terminal illness or A&E but the reality is that these will touch virtually everyone reading this at some point.

Obama's not perfect, the States system of democracy is not perfect but this is at least one piece of major legislation with a tangible benefit for US citizens who dont have financial security.

US citizens, not just a load of oilmen/bankers/money men so how can that be bad???

Taxes go up and always will so anyone who thinks recent events will mean they stop is in for a big shock

How much does the cost of poor people feeling less well looked after actually cost the states in terms of lack of social cohesion I wonder???

This is an ABSURDLY immature take on the subject. So what you're saying is if some low life who decides they don't want to protect their own health decides to drive under the influence and badly injures himself that we, the tax payers, should pay for his care??

Where do you think this money is coming from? Uninsured people get treated every day and can't afford it, so its the rest of us who suffer the consequences.

Believe me, I'm not insinuating that you couldn't afford $500,000 in procedures (ahem), but most cannot and not only does it ruin their lives, but it comes straight out of our tax dollars.

People get these socialized care cards when they are in a catastrophic accident for a reason: because the caretakers know that the money will just come out of the state's budget. They know these people can't afford the procedure..

My friend was training at his new job, which he couldn't get insurance through for 3 months into his employment. His appendix burst and 60 grand later, he was at wits end. He applied for this state care card and suddenly his bill drops to 10 grand. The state paid the rest because why would they let a young man go through all that?

The current system is utterly ridiculous, that's why I can barely respect the opinion of people who are against single-payer programs or universal healthcare.

Not everyone owns a car, but everyone has a body. Everyone needs to be insured so people like me, who can't get insurance to save my life, will not be a burden on everyone else.

Nice response, while addressing a partial answer seems ok, you aren't addressing the whole thing which mean half is not one, so you did not address the OP.

Let me ask you, do blue skies have other colors on partially cloudy days?

don't answer, i already know...

If I could say more I would but politically correct and extremely politetiousness( I hope that is a word) has taken over and becomes a hate crime.

Off topic, maybe just like my whole post.

A few years ago I could say F you and you would respond F you back, now is the worst thing and a hate crime.

Take it like a man.... Oh crap I am being sexiest.... DAMN.

God people make me sick.. You all stand silent through stolen elctions, passing of the patriot act, illegal wars and America's name being dragged through the mud.. You stand silent through crime on the street, your neighbors kids being abused by parents, our elderly abused in rest homes.. You stand silent through them poluting our world and species going extinct.

What makes you loud, when do you have a voice? Not till someone trys to reform health care and help the workers.. Then you get oh so angry...

You all want to sit around talking about TBTB etc when you muppits who fall to the first strings of propaganda, strings plucked to play the same tune that has jacked up this world for how long? Reagan, Bush, Bush, You want another Bush? How about another Nixon to really get some blood on our hands..

Jesus, this says alot about where all of you wear your heart at.. Right along with your wallets, your "We killed JFK" special edition, and next to your kick a begger leather shoes (made by slave labor in china).

Jaxson Roberts,

You are disparaging our Naval Forces with your remark about spending like drunken sailors. Consider this, at least sailors are spending their own money

I don't understand why the OP feels the need to use such abusive language. I'll tell you, I'm flat out against this health care reform, I was there protesting the inevitable retaliation THE DAY of 9-11 and again on my 21st birthday, March 20, 2003, as the U.S invaded Iraq I was one of 10,000 protesting in the streets of Chicago instead of going out to the bar to have my first legal drink. I'm one of millions that have been completely screwed with the bank bailouts. I'm sitting on a pile of student loan debt that would drop your jaw. I can't find a job and I've defaulted on most of my loans. As I write this I'm getting ready to go to the hospital where my 90 year old grandfather is about to have surgery. I've spent the last two weeks discovering that my grandparents have to choose between their meds and food/soap/shampoo/utilities because GM, the company my grandfather devoted his life to, stripped away the health care benefits he earned with sweat and blood. I live in the poorest county of Michigan and I invite you to come here for a day and see what life is like, then you can go back to your black and white world that makes it easy for you to choose your enemy. Everywhere I look I see PEOPLE hurting badly. It doesn't make a difference anymore if they voted for Bush voted for Obama, voted for Gore, voted for McCain, voted for Ron Paul. They all have one thing in common and that is they are all screwed.

It's clear that the average American, no matter his political affiliation, has no say in what goes on in our "land of the free." I think by now the majority of us know we've been hoodwinked and sold a bill of goods both with the current administration and the last one.

Blaming others will get you nowhere and acting this way only makes you part of the problem.

Lets not forget that if you support this socialist bill then you are in the m i n o r i t y. The M a j o r i t y of Americans dont want it. And the more the supporters of this ingrown anus hair of a bill talk about it the more the majority grows that oppose it. Its government takeover and the majority of Americans know that there is no good that can come from it.

Like I've said in the past...If they control you from the cradle to the grave, they can control who gets a cradle and who gets a grave.

I wonder how long its going to be before we start talking about who's being a drag to this glorious new system were trying to create and how we'll have to scrape them off just to keep our heads above water. The old and the habitually ill will be the first to get the axe.

So you're saying that the reason why people who complain about the healthcare bill are idiots is because they didn't complain about things that Bush did? What on earth are you talking about?! your generalisations are plain ignorant. Has it ever crossed your mind that people who don't like the healthcare bill also don't like things that Bush has done in the past? You need to get your head out of the republican/democrat paradigm and start thinking more freely.

Soo, if you went through all that why dont you try following the money..

Dems main funding, labor unions, worker groups, schools, science institutions, medical institutions,

Rep main funding, big busisness, corpirations, wallstreet, military, banks & credit card companies..

Now, out of those two groups which do you think could remotley care about you.

I'm saying half of you fall to the slightest rhetoric.. And yeah, i can be pretty safe in saying the majority of you didnt stand up when Bush was around.. If you had we might not have this mess of war and a broken econemy.

And by the way, you trying to politicize what right and wrong (IE war death and stealing wrong, trying to clean up the planet and help the sick right) makes you about as good as the ones who have been holding up this nation for how long?

Show me your polls and tell me where they come from. I bet I can show you about 100 inaccuracies and biases from the source.

Medicine is already socialized, and I'm sad for the people who don't realize it. It just hasn't been official til now. AND I can finally rest knowing my future kids won't be uninsured when they get out of college like I am today.

This is being passed by special interest groups and corporate America. Corporate America wants out of the insurance business. They want in America what they have in foreign countries. There will be alot more of us being dropped if corporate America only has to pay a $1000 penalty per person to drop all of us.

They pass a bill in the House that nobody has read and they don't know what it fully contains.

Next sets the stage for the 23000000 illegal immigrants. This reform will insure that they get 23000000 votes for ellections to come.

Your opinion is absurdly immature. Why do you think that is not your friends responsibility to pay for his own bills? I nor no one else should have to pay for it no matter how expensive it is. He got sick..tough...its his responsibility. And that goes for anyone else that gets sick. Its unfortunate but tough scat! Thats life! If you don't have insurance you pay the full amount whether it be 100 or 100000. Its your own damn responsibility even if you have pay on it for the rest of your life!

WHY WEREN'T YOU THIS UPSET WHEN BUSH AND CHENEY WERE GOING THROUGH OUR MONEY LIKE DRUNKEN SAILORS ON SHORE LEAVE???

I think that saying is more in line with Obama. With both parties at fault at what point does spending become insane with no way out. I wasn’t happy with Bush but it has been Obama that has numb us to the word trillion… It’s just 12 trillion… right? Bush added 3 trillion in his 8 years and push the US up from 3.3 trillion under Clinton to 6.3 trillion, but Obama is smashing that in the first 1 1/2 years with no end in sight as we see this health care bill and other costly but failed measures just start to affect us.

Where was your anger when Bush gave a huge tax cut to his rich buddies and created the damn deficit that being added to now???

You mean tax cuts to those who actually pay taxes?

Here's another question for all of you GENIUSES out there: Remember those really EVIL variable rate mortgages that were given out to people who couldn't afford to pay them once the rate 'varied'??? You know, the financial instruments that caused the housing market to collapse, put MILLIONS of Americans out of work, and had the Wall Street Banksters getting bailed out by us taxpayers??? Why are those frakkin' things still legal??? Why hasn't ANYONE from EITHER side of the aisle proposed legislation to make those wretched things ILLEGAL???

I can answer this with one name... Barny Frank

So go ahead and whine and moan about the damn Healthcare Reform Bill... You have EXACTLY the kind of Government you DESERVE!!!

IDIOTS!

Hmm why is it the conservatives at fault, who didn't vote for Obama, who didn't vote the reps into office that voted yes on the healthcare bill etc? Are you saying because Bush screwed up it is the republicans fault for this total craziness?

There are a lot of great moderate liberals out there to pick from, but that party just seems to want the far left for their spokespersons, well enjoy you all got what you asked for…
