Nobel Peace Prize(stop the world I want to get off)

The problem is that most people think of peace as,well,harmony and freedom from war.

To Karl Marx,his definition of Peace is the "Absence of opposition to Socialism".

When you can think like they do,it's alot easier to understand what's going on!

Remember,Al Gore once won this prize,so it's not as though it has any integrity!

I find your lack of knowledge disturbing, but you quoted a Bible reference - so that explains numerous things.

The Peace Prize is a worthwhile award, some notable laureates include Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa, 14th Dalai Lama and my political hero - Aung San Suu Kyi.

Yet, a President fighting two wars - without peace in sight within Afghanistan - thinks it is OK to accumulate his ego even more by exploiting a peace prize?

President Obama does not have any sympathetic attitudes towards the Nobel Committee. Another excuse to spread his cult of personality.

These wars certainly weren't his fault. I do personally think that all of our troops should come home and this complete waste of our taxpayer money should end. But honestly, people don't become presidents by exhibiting humility. As far as every president goes megalomania is the name of the game.

Now the larger question on whether or not he deserved it? Well certainly more deserving people obviously must have been nominated, and Obama certainly hasn't done anything in my opinion to deserve the Peace Prize. But he did win it. If I had won it. I certainly wouldn't turn it down.

To TPTB, "peace" means forcing everyone who doesn't agree with you into submission.

So maybe he does deserve this prize. His army is in almost every country in the world.

However, this laureate is not as controversial as Henry Kissinger receivership of the Peace Prize. That individual is deserving of an war criminal trial, countless violations of human rights and crimes against humanity.

at this point im kinda hoping there is a galatic justice league or something and the aliens come to earth and take away all the evil doers in power and try them in front of a the galatic court of justice !

Well, let's look at the facts, I have never started a war. While I do wish the destruction of most of mankind I have not ever done anything to bring that wish to fruition, and I am far more intelligent than more than 99% of the population of this planet. So by definition, I should be well qualified for the Nobel Peace prize.

So while being mankind's intellectually and evolutionarily superior, according to you I shouldn't deserve the Peace Prize either because I am arrogant about the facts at hand.

What exactly do you think qualifies a person for the Peace Prize?

Those who are internationally recognised for defending human rights, social justice and dedicated to certain causes. Persons who have actually helped to promote peace with actions - not one speech or a "promise" to do so.

I think anyone trying to obfuscate the premise of the OP should stop, you have already dug your hole deep enough.

Trying to defend an asshat of the Global Elite that say that War is Peace and is justifiable is asinine.

To not see you are perpetuating the very ideals, that Bush instituted in his BUSH DOCTRINE, of pre-emptive wars, is also asinine and hypocritical to say the least.

S&F OP for trying to enlighten the masses of ignorance, that permeate society and the members here.

Yes, Obama is your Messiah. We see that. But do not infer from the lack of response, to your hypocracy, that we are not angry with your stance. It is just most of us have given up hope, in trying to enlighten the unenlightened.
