On a small last minute segment on FOX News, Gibson mention how China is using vast amounts of oil, taking jobs out of the western world and has a large army. He also briefly mentioned that if China were to challenge U.S. forces it may have a chance, stating that even though the U.S. army is mighty, the Iraq situation has shown that it is not all powerful and conquering.

Just pointing out that the Chinese threat is being recognised by the media even if in a small personal segment.

While its true that China has a very large and powerful army, and would be a formidable enemy if we invaded, their navy is nothing compared to ours. Air force too. They dont stand a chance of moving their troops to this hemisphere. And if they were able to produce enough ships or planes to get them here, we would blow them out of the water and air.

China is growing. It is becoming more industrialized. And every country uses oil. Why cant we just use hydrogen though? It doesnt pollute air and is more efficent that oil its water!

It's easy to blame countries for stealing "western" jobs. What most people forget is that a lot of our corporations invest their money in cheap labour countries.

Please look at what is wrong in your own country before you place a judgement at other ones.

It is not unknown to us that Russia and China have been friends for a while. Russia has had a plan to invade the US for a long while and one of the steps in their plans is to make believe they are weak. Both Russia and China have threatened the US if we ever tried to make a Missile defense system, even thou both countries have a missile defense system, and the U.S.S.R...err, Russia is upgrading theirs as we speak. President Bush was smart enough to start the program and by election time this year we should have a rudimentary missile defense system.

I really believe we are getting closer and closer to this confrontation. I have posted many links about Russian defectors talking about this. Even China's elite have said that a war with the US is inevitable, and that they prefer to take that war to us before it goes to them. Many Russians and Chinese don't want this, but it is the elite of both countries that want this to be done. President Putin has also said that he would like mother Russia to go back to the glory it had in the past, or that he missed those times, something like that.

I have posted a couple of threads having to do with this.
Here is a link with information from defectors about these plans.

Military technology is a least 15-25 years ahead of what we consider the latest technology. Do you honestly think the US uses oil to power everything they have? K i dont know either....but still....

stating that even though the U.S. army is mighty, the Iraq situation has shown that it is not all powerful and conquering.

I don't think you can use the Iraq war as a reference to what the US army can actualy do in an all out war.

The US is having trouble in Iraq because the whole world is watching, and because they say they are there to bring peace.

The US already has lost a whole lot of international support and friends and therefor has to be very cautious in their actions in Iraq.
Whats also a problem is that the US declared the war to be over in Iraq loooong time ago.

If the problems there were caused by an actual attack by Iraq on another nation, and the US actualy had an army opposing them, and/or the war in iraq wasn't declared over yet, the US would be able to fight alot more fierce.

Now they are just stuck with having to be very cautious and having an opponent thats totaly not military, but urban.

Urban warfare is something armies always have problems with, just look at the world wide problems small guerillia groups can cause, even when its them, with a few hundred, against a country's whole military force.

"More recently, Anatoliy Golitsyn, a Soviet defector of high status, has suggested that the Soviet Union is capable of disinformation on such a massive scale that even the Borkenau system is no longer viable.2 In a book first published in 1984, and of necessity written before then, Golitsyn argues that the leadership of the whole Communist bloc came to an agreement in 1958 in which it established a long range program, a master plan, which it would realize through a large scale deception of the West, a monumental scam.

Golitsyn maintains that the goals of the master plan were to provide a more profound political stabilization of individual communist regimes by developing wider mass support, the rectification of economic weakness of the bloc by increased international trade and the acquisition of credits and high technology from the West, the creation of a substructure for an eventual world federation of communist states, political isolation of the US from its allies, developing influence among socialists in Western Europe and Japan, the dissolution of NATO, and an alignment between the Soviet Union and a neutral, preferably socialist, Western Europe; concerted action with nationalist leaders in the Third World to eliminate Western influence as a preliminary to absorbing them in a communist federation, shifting the balance of power in favor of the Communist world, and the ideological disarmament of the West to create favorable conditions for convergence of East and West on communist terms.3 "
