Unofficial Poll: will Americans ever engage in a armed conflict with our government?

IMO, since the US is a "government of the people, by the people, for the people" then essentially, any war waged against the government would actually be a civil war. I don't see it happening anytime soon; however, history is destine to repeat itself.

3. Sports & Beer

we have been nutered not only buy our government but by out faith in our govenment. people dont do that right think all the time. why believe that out government will? that is ludacris at best.

we also have become dessitised by technology. when the nwo goes into effect there will be war and famine and chaos in the street. and with numbers of civis as high as they are her, there will be panic and not even martial law will stop it.

Not a chance.

The only thing these "patriots" are in danger of is looking more ridiculous to the rest of the world.

How sad would it actually be if a few misguided organizations of militia men actually stormed the capital with guns? Over what? A tax increase on the richest few percent of people in the world? A public health care option for those too poor to afford it? Birth certificate conspiracy? Seriously?

That day that happened, I'd be embarrassed to share a continent with America, it would spit in the face of people actually fighting for basic freedoms. Americans have no idea how free they are.

the tax increases are across the board you tard stain. in fact there are more taxes on the poor then on the rich. out government gives the rich bail out money. and the poor wont be able to afford a unified health care system. this country is effed up. you probably live un the uk or some place where you dont have rights like we do. so you think you have it bad. but this country was founded on our rights. your are probably just sore because your country didnt rebel against oppression. that sucks for you it really does. but americans know freedom and know what its being taken away. if you think its so great in america....come live here for a while and talk to real working class americans.....they have the real problems.

All I have to say is 9/11.

Remember how almost the entire country came together. Well what is happening is pretty close in size as the Prof. has mentioned. All it would take is the right info getting out and the goose would be cooked.

For the people that haven't been paying attention more and more people are starting to distrust the government. All the stereotypes being thrown around here are sickening. The fact is nobody can say what people are going to do until it happens.

So to answer the question, Yes people will. Will it be organized? No it won't be.

Don't think of it as storming the Capital that wont happen, envision something more on the lines of Fema, martial law, military poilice invading your homes to disarm or invade your properties and freedom.

Removed those that skew the stats for thier own purposes the best estimates are about 45% or 52 million of american households owning 260 million guns). there are about 80 million gun owners in America with a combining total of 258 million guns

There's something they forgot when they sent us off to war so many times, so many generations... that we'd all be honored to fight for OUR country. It's a family tradition.

they cant jail all of us for not paying our taxes. and they cant stop us from anything as a whole nation. they can try but will fail. maybe a national boycott day will drive the message home? undoubtedly it will come to a revolution the like of witch the world has never seen.

other countries are beginning to think were weak, that we have lost our edge. but i say lets do this. lets revolt.

Not being disrespectful or anything, but other than the initial and global shock, did the country really come together? Seems to me that since then the (in my opinion intentional) polarization has grown at an unprededented exponential pace. Will we fight our government? Again I say nope. Not unless the democrats in the crowd take on the republicans and the Christians take on the atheists or the haters take on the gays and Muslims and the city people fighting the country people and well...you get the point. Yeah, see, even if it happened I'm pretty sure it would be hell trying to figure out whose with us and whose against us. Or even who us is. Nope. The only thing that will ever get all the people in this country or this world thinking together again will be (and I hate to say this...another 9/11 or Pearl Harbor) or maybe an alien invasion. Other than that, I can't see it happening. That's not pessimism...it's reality.

I think yes.
But it wont be because of the people, it will be because the govt will make it happen. Nothing ever happens without govt consent. They could stop this anger, and hate by simply listening to the people, but they dont because they think they know what is best for everyone.
When was the last time the govt ever went out of its way to help you ?
They just dont care about us, simple as that. All we are to them is capital.

you are correct, but people e are waking up all over the country. they are seeing that our government isnt helping anything. the rich gain more money the poor get poorer. and the sick die because of the greed and politics. and people will raise up, they will form militias and some day soon they will march to washington and protest. i hope that it will be peaceful, and it dosent come to blood shed, but looking back on our past.


wel formed are own country to get away from the parliament in england. we wanted rights and freedoms. but people are so accustomed to it that they lost sight of the truth. our country is only getting worse. some day soon THE PEOPLE will rally and emerge victorious.

Id be one of the first people to sign up. I hate the way the government runs things now. Not to mention the taking away of countless freedoms. I believe we still have it in us.

Well it's not like it's something new? .. We have done so in the past, I cannot imagine how we could exist if we didn't in the future. It's only a matter of time, whether my life time or not .. history shows us this.

I guess now is a good time to point out way back in 1999 there was a national poll, like this... back then things were no so bad, still that polled said 56% of Americans expected to come to blows with our own government in some future point...

I think if push comes to shove and we were forced to take up arms more people than any ever expected would stand to be counted.

its not about TV eating out or the right to play Mature Video games... Its about the freedom to choose for ourselves, live as we want...

I have no idea what event it would take... but if that day ever comes the shoot heard round the world this time will sound like the thunder of an untamable terrible storm

Normally, I wouldn't even bother to respond to such a ridiculous post. However, let me EDUCATE you as to how ignorant your remarks sound, to those of us who LIVE in the US.

The tax increase issue is certainly important. Americans have been subjected to a horrendous tax- namely the tax that has resulted because of the destruction of the value of the Dollar. In addition, Obama and his minions will not be happy until they take every single dollar that Americans EARN, in order to fund his Socialist agenda. The "health care option" you talk about is doomed to bankrupt the US. If you took the time to truly understand what is behind it, rather than believing the MSM, you would see what a sham the entire proposals are. First of all, Congress has cleverly hidden the true cost of the Healthcare bill, by proposing to start the taxes immediately, while delaying the actual health care bill for SEVEN years. Looking at the first TEN year interval, they then say that the bill is fully paid for. That is, ten years of taxes are paying for 3 years of coverage. In the next 10 years, assuming the US gets to that point, complete and utter Bankruptcy occurs. Second, part of the "savings" projected by these criminals come from decreasing Medicare by one-half TRILLION dollars. Here is what that does- it forces hospitals and doctors to reject Medicare payments when by accepting them, they would LOSE money. It will force doctors out of business or force them to leave, leaving more "covered" Americans with NO HEALTH CARE AT ALL.
As for the "birth certificate" issue, that is a red herring. Most Americans could care less about it. What we DO care about is the way that the current administration and Congress is shafting America and Americans, for their own sake, and that of their Hollywood and MSM interests.
You have no skin in the game, and although you certainly have the right to voice your opinion, it should be an opinion based upon facts, not misguided and erroneous information.

Do I believe it will happen? Yes, and it will be complete chaos, ON TOP of chaos.
Let's think visually about how this would play out.
First you will need an EVENT.
There HAS to be a trigger, here, on this soil, and IF there is an event it will no doubt coincide with events already in progress, whether they be the current global fiascos our nation is involved in or, other major events we're not yet involved in.
I do not see masses of people storming any steps to government buildings as the catalyst, I see this starting as a reaction to a panic.

Once it starts, it will be directed at whom?
We're talking armed in this situation, so WHO is on the receiving end?
This is pretty important.
Gathered friends and families? Scared and protecting themselves.
Roaming thugs and looters? Taking advantage of a situation.
Police? Attempting to maintain order.
Military?
Government officials?
Who's giving orders?

Where's the enemy? Whats your goal? Who's the target(s)?
I see a mess already, and unless there is something to replace the void created, those in the seat of power, will do whatever to retain it, and if that involves U.N. troops to quell the uprising, do you think they wont do that?
NOW you have your Kissinger prophecy, now you have REAL chaos,
our military and civilians going against an occupation declared by what WAS our own government against us.
NOW how many nations would "assist" in helping to "save us" by JOINING IN WITH THE U.N. forces?

That is true, but ACORN makes up for it, by having their minions cast multiple votes, and casting votes for people who aren't even citizens. It's hard to overcome those numbers, when such corruption exists.
