Considering that the Nobel Peace Prize was invented by the inventor of dynamite, it makes sense why Roosevelt, Wilson and now Obama got the prize.

It can't be taken seriously if even Carter got the prize AND Al Gore. It's as much a waste of time as the Oscar's. This is where we can truly see how the tptb work.

For peace in the Middle East? Obama just refused to bring soldiers back home. Climate change? Not even scientists believe in the climate change theory. What did he do? What will he do?

Oh yes, they just bombed the moon...how peaceful...

The US unemployment level is hitting 10%. Peaceful?

The Federal Reserve can do what they want. The banks can do what they want. Does Obama do anything about it? No, he supports Bernanke, he supports Geithner, he support G&S...so what? Peaceful??

The only way for him to save face will be to turn it down. Everyone including him knows this is practically a joke. It seems like everything in this country has reverse/alternate meanings lately.

Peace = war
Health care for all = less health care
Save the banks from doom = executive bonuses
Protect us from terrorism = loss of civil liberties
Show of American pride = racist, non American

Its starting to look like a great presidential term for Obama. Maybe we should vote him in again for another round.

I just read somewhere that Will and Jada Smith will be hosting the actual award "show" for the nobel peace prize.

WOW! I'm completely stunned by this news. The guy has accomplished NOTHING toward achieving peace anywhere. In fact, the guy has accomplished nothing in general. The Nobel Peace Prize will certainly lose its stature and credibility after this stunt. I thought the bulk of the stupid people resided in America and voted for him - boy was I wrong. i already stated twice that he hasnt earned it yet. maybe he will. we will se. your just baiting a flame war and its very transparent. As for what you are implying, yeah i voted for him, yeah i like him, but he will not be up for worship till he stops all war, ever. That and makes it so no one goes hungry anywhere in the world, ever. Period dot. did that answer your question of where we stand. I thought Obama was just a NWO tool. But now, I'm starting to wonder. IF there is an antichrist (and no, I don't buy into the Biblical Revelation chapter), Obama is starting to look like he fits the mold. He came out of no where and it's so damn obvious that he's being adored by the world - and for doing nothing. It's spooky and very strange.

As I said - I don't buy into the bibles Revelation chapter (or is it called a book?). But I can now understand why people who do believe in that chapter (or book) think he could be 'the antichrist'.

He has the vision to see a future where America takes care of itself and is at peace with the world. His vision includes quality health care for all, energy independence, and cooperation with our allies as well as our "enemies" around the world. He has the vision of different religions (and the non-religious) of the world existing harmoniously.

He has the vision to see the USA as A component of the world rather than THE component of the world.

He has the courage to actually talk with other countries as opposed to making rash, illogical decisions and judgments when dealing with those with whom we disagree. He has the courage to have an open mind, and be patient and understanding of others' points of view, even when he disagrees. He has the courage to reach out to Muslims after they have been made the "enemy" by the last administration.

And while he's willing to talk with our enemies, he has the determination to kick ass if necessary. He has the determination to work HARD to get REAL bipartisan cooperation in the face of the total obstructionism of the Republican party in Congress. He has the determination to be the Un-Bush.

That gives you an idea of what I think. I disagree with Obama on many things, but my disagreement with him doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve this award.

I'm sure there are many people in addition to Obama who deserve it, but the committee made a decision and they made it for their reasons, not mine. So I can't really say why he deserved it above the others. But I can definitely see why they made this decision.

Two wars going on and continued missile attacks on Pakistani villages.

And you win the freaking PEACE PRIZE !!!!!!!
