Nine women rescued from fake reality TV show

www.msnbc.msn.com

Nine women have been rescued after being tricked into believing they were reality show contestants, Turkish military police said Thursday.

The women were made to believe they were being filmed for a Big Brother-type television show, the private Dogan news agency and other news reports said, without citing sources. Instead, their naked images were sold on the Internet, the reports said.

.....police detained four people who lived with the women at the villa at all times.

It was only a matter of time. Some bunch of degenerates had to come up with an idea like this. There is no end to the propensity for man's indecency to fellow human beings, along with the rest of creation. Thank God there are those who represent the other end of the spectrum as well.

I would expect the perps will be charged with kidnapping, though the girls did sign a contract. There might be some other charges related to the activities the girls were told to engage in, as well as the way the footage of the "show" was distributed. I was a bit surprised they were allowed to go free pending trial. They will probably disappear.

It will be interesting to hear what happens with this, it seemed an odd story to me...

If the women agreed to appear on a TV show naked for X amount of days...
How much difference does it really make if it was actually just an Internet show?

Sure these guys lied, and they should probably be punished for that, but I don't see how the women can claim too much exploitation here, especially kidnapping... They were willing to exploit themselves for national TV, and signed a contract, but once it's the internet it's all of a sudden the worst crime ever?

I pronounce both sides guilty, the guys who set it up for lying a bit about the true nature, and the women for being so easily exploited just because they thought they would be on TV.

What is even more disturbing to me is that women will now be international news sensations and THAT will eventually lead to a reality show. It could be a reality show recreating the reality show they were tricked into. Fox Reality network probably already has a script.

It is sad and scary at the same time.

Surely these women signed some paperwork releasing their likenesses for marketing and promotional purposes! This would include the internet. They were probably free to leave, but didn't want to because of the lure of a big prize. In order to press any charges, they will have to prove no prize existed?

I don't think this will stick!

It is sad though, that all these women will now be famous anyway. Several of them will use the fame to pose for Playboy, get some cameos on TV, and ho themselves out anyway!!

wow. i knew something like this was bound to happen. these days, people are so fame-hungry they will believe just about anything if it means they will get onto a "show". many times, even the valid reality shows are sleazy and disgusting. ive had quite a few friends who have been on reality shows and they say its just an unprofessional mess... from cameraguys sleeping with all the girls to not making the money they were promised.

reality shows are just gross, dont even showcase "reality", and people can easily be misled and get into a dangerous situation, just as the OP stated.

reality shows need to be banned from tv.

Eh, it's not the fault of these guys that the women were so stupid.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Is there anything some women wont do for 'fame'?

I just think of the group who threw themselves at that crackhead Flava Flav and all of the women who I've spoken with who went on to defend the 'contestants' so feverishly chasing a crackhead and I conclude, no, there isnt anything that some women wont do for 'fame.'

Is this sort of idiocy as commonplace among males? For instance, a slovenly, abusive, substance addicted male 'celebrity' garners all sorts of sexual attention from numerous females. But does say, Amy Winehouse, have some gargantuan movement of males throwing themselves at her because of her 'celebrity' status?

With men it seems to go the other way. If she's hot she gets attention. Whether a celebrity or a bum under a bridge. If she cleans up good we'll bite. But women seem more inclined to go after the 'fame' status of a male regardless of how awful a representation of the male gender the 'famous' individual may be.

I want to try this for myself. Set up "auditions" for these dumb college girls in my town. No pay, no guarantee of anything, but sign a release giving me all rights to the photos and publications with the lure of possibly landing a paying position.

Then, I get a bunch of horny college chicks to pose partially or completely nude, dance, or do whatever they think showcases their "skills" the best. Publish the content for exactly what it is, "Auditions" of stupid college girls, and I get naked chicks and money without ever lying or cheating! Some of the girls will undoubtedly benefit from the "exposure" on the internet, and they will land some paying positions!

Win-Win-Win! And it only costs me a hotel room, camera, and internet connection!

I think the "Girls Gone Wild" guys beat you to it.

But yeah, anyone can easily pull off something like this. Far too many of them seem to be drawn to behaving like buffoons then crying about it when it gets on the internet.

They dont even need an outside male to influence the behavior. They'll coerce each other into it. Those cheerleaders in Texas fir example who all thought it was so 'cool' to plaster pseudo-pornographic images of themselves online no doubt for the 'fame' of it.

Just walking around town with a camcorder is bound to get you some action. They see that lens and go nuts. Maybe wear a "Staff" t-shirt.

Been there / done that!! In Panama City no less!!

Also, done the whole celebrity angle. Tip doorguy bigtime, tell him my buddy doesn't want to be bothered tonight, please don't tell anybody he is in the bar, tip bartender and ask him to keep drinks coming over to corner booth, so my buddy won't get recognized going back and forth, and then just hide in corner and let the gossiping bouncers do all the work!! $200 up front, and your whole group can drink and party free as a VIP all night!! Girls and Guys coming over to the table, and throwing themselves at you, and all you have to do is keep telling the truth, because they assume it is a cover story!! No lying required!

On topic: Terrible, and such, though predictable and surprising it took this long for someone to try it.

Off topic: The best reality show ever was fake, IMO, it is called Joe Schmo, and everyone is an actor except the Schmo in question. It was so awesome and funny, and the guy was a really great guy who you really get to care about. I highly reccommend it, and may go see if I can't buy it myself, haven't seen it in years now.

This gives me a brilliant idea

I am going to take contestants in for a reaity show and offer them an unknown prize. The reality show is never going to get aired - not even on the internet. The prize will be "pride". Think anybody will join in on a show that isn't broadcasted and the only prize is essentially self esteem? Or are all humans mundane creatures that build their treasure coves with Earthly things?

I got an idea, take some chicks tell them that if they can live naked in my house for a year they'll win a sum of money. Market it on the internet for what its is and make tons lol.
