I do agree it is those at the top who have moved the American empire into second place, however Social programs are very much needed in certain aspects of society.

You can't have free enterprise run everything, far too much competition and deceipt.

It will be interesting to see when China cashes in those loans you guysh have taken, or what they'll want in order to clear the debt. They don't seem to sure of their investment at the moment.

I am not completely against social programs. After all, any policy directed by government is really SOCIALISM.

Capitalism and Socialism co-exist with each other.

True Capitalism cannot exist without socialism. There always has to be structure to Society. Capitalism isn't really a structured society. Capitalism is survival of the fittest.

The problem with capitalism is that it gives power to few...i believe a balance has to be there...but both business and government should be small.

I think this is the only real way for liberals/conservatives to come together.

Just make everything smaller! But by all means...do it by the Constitution!

I agree that we need less government, and less big business which is why I propose Libertarianism, coupled with strong municipal governments.

If anything, I fall into the Libertarian mentality. I believe everyone should have the chance to succeed..but it shouldn't be a given.

There are all kinds of minds, all kinds of thoughts, all kinds of ideals.

This cannot consist in a "purely" equal society...as everyone is not "purely" equal....both based on mental and physical compacity. Someone is always smarter than another...or stronger than another.

The only problem is that those who are the best of the best should not dictate the lives of those who are less fortunate.

It's for this reason that nobody should be under the same set of rules. Individual communities of like minded people should make their own choices about how they want to live.

If we did it this way, then it would be simple. You don't like it here, move. I gurantee there will be more people who think like you who want to live the way you do, so go there.

The fed government should not dictate behaviour and laws if it doesn't effect everybody in the country.

My moto is do whatever you want, so long as you aren't infringing upon the rights of others, I have no right to tell you not to do it.

What's the free and threatened world going to do with children playing with WMD and their own demise?

Does it really matter if North Korea is on a terrorist list ?
IMO taking North Korea off the terrorism list was just a diplomatic tool the way the US approach to North Korea didn't change and nor should it . North Korea is a greater security threat then Iran . So far the high density civilian population and other issues have prevented military action from being taken against North Korea .
