I just think its sad that the vast majority of households will now become dependent, if not more dependant on government welfare. Thats 83% of America!!! Let me say that again, 83% of America will receive a form of welfare under this plan, and will subsuquently be more dependant.

So then should every American run out and get a job that pays $100,000 a year?

Well, if that happened, the insurance companies would just raise rates to compensate and get more money.

You see, there will always be a majority of Americans in this country that simply can't afford health care, because health care is unaffordable.

It's one big circle jerk action between the health insurance companies and the hospitals they do business with. A whole lot of back scratching going on.

Capitalism is just like anything else. Too much of it without discipline and control is bad for you.

This country needs health care. And it looks like we're finally getting it.

Call it "socialist" all you want, it doesn't phase me or the majority of America.

Just like all progressives have heard from conservatives for the past 8 years, i'll say this to anyone who disagrees:

"If you don't like America, get out"

Excuse me? who are you quoting? Mugabe, some other dictator?

And ghee you might pay some taxes for some one elses health instead of buying a second SUV..I am pretty conservative if it comes to social welfare but your health is the most important thing in your life!!!!
It is a government's responsibility to take care of that at the minimum, otherwise it is absurd that same government is allowed to take your life with death penalty...

We are drowning them in debt before their even born because we want to feel good about healthcare. We have to be smart and we can't keep giving government an open checkbook to borrow and print money which we have to pay interest on.

SO if you are ill in this current situation and without a proper income you don't think you could come into a little debt if your life is worth it? instead of a situation with free health care? with some higher taxes...

Of course universal health care sounds good and makes people feel good inside but they have to face reality. We can't keep borrowing money to pay for these things because we are drowning in debt.

We can accomplish these things without Government borrowing and spending. Do people realize we have to pay interest on the money we borrow and spend? Do people realize that we have over 11 trillion dollars in debt in a 13 trillion dollar economy?

I can remember times where I could have taken bill money and went on a lavish vacation to the Bahamas. I would have came back though without a house. The trip would have felt good in the short term but would bankrupt me in the long term.

This is what the government is doing. They will always appeal to emotion to get more money to waste and spend.

This is ultimately about power. With government it always is.

They want us dependent on them so ..... they can micro manage us and dictate to us how to live our lives. It is about control.

They (TPTB) create a problem. People demand a solution. Then they provide the people with the solution that gives them (TPTB) what they desire more than anything else ... more power!

And they're not dumb about how they go about it. Slow and methodical. Covering their tracks completely as they go along. Looking completely innocent and separate from the problem. Pretending to be the savior, hero come to rescue us from our despair. We rush head long into their warm saving embrace. And when we release we find that they have deceived us and we are bound.

I am not trying to come across as judgemental but be careful how you use the term or phrase "you people". I took no offense and knew whom you were directing this towards (Obama Supporters) but terms like that can be blown out of proportion and stir up negative emotions towards "you people". Then you could be labeled as a gun-toting right-wing extremist and have yourself blacklisted and on the national possible terrorist watch list.

Today - 88,000
Next year - 42,000
Year 2 - Minimum wage exempt if only 1 wage earner per household
Year 3 - Gone broke. Everyone pays 185 per cent of current cost to cover the layers of DC bureaucracy.

Exactly,

Our money gives them power. They will always want another program in order to have more our money to throw around and waste.

They create the problem, yell crisis and then borrow and spend alot of money.

It's like Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel said, "Never waste a good crisis."

They know your fear and your emotion will open up the printing press and they will sink us in debt.

Being military retiree since 91 and in a socialized medicine HMO since 71, let me assure you, you don't want to be here in my shoes...

Oops, too late. You get who you voted for with all the thorns.

they will just have a hostage market forced by the government to pay whatever price they desire, and since well, capitalism, and the profits it brings will always be king, well....

All too true, just like the other insurance industries in this company... pay your money each month because its mandated and then when you break a window, or get into an accident, oh yeah sorry we can't pay for that.

If I hadn't been paying you 100+ bucks every month maybe I would've had the extra cash to pay for the repairs myself you greedy swindling leeches.

I've been scrolling through this thread and the only problem with socialized health care I can see here, is that the problem is the american government running it. Not the health care system. Maybe the focus should be on the gov, and to change the gov, instead of a working health care system.

We are many countries in europe that have socialized health care, and it is not a bad thing. Those who don't want it, can go to private health care. In my eyes, that's more to be "free", than only have one alternative = pay it yourself.

You can never konw when you get ill. Just because you've been healthy all your life until now, you can't trust it to last all your life.

Haha ignorance at it's finest.

Socialized medical is not the horror your MSM has brainwashed you into believing. If any of you ever left your god forsaken country and visited Canada, England or France, a quick chat with local AVERAGE citizens would quickly reveal that fact.

Besides, even if you idiots are in that small percentage that can actually afford health care, under socialized medical if you have money you can pay for faster treatment/surgery or whatever.

How any of you can defend your medical system when HALF OF ALL BANKRUPTCY'S IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ARE DUE TO HEALTH CARE COSTS

You ignorant people cant see past your nose, and those people who have their lives shattered by mounting medical bills are desperate. They have nothing to lose and it can spawn foreclosures, crime, drug abuse, school drop outs etc.

Those people, the people that get face *snip* by your government are the people breaking into your car at night, or your house while your at work. It's becoming more and more apparent that this site does nothing in denying ignorance, it's ripe with it. Quit letting the mainstream media tell you what is right for you, do some research and maybe leave your hell hole of a country for once and visit a country that has a "socialized" medical system.

Socialized schools, ok?
Socialized police, ok?
Socialized fire departments, ok?
Socialized libraries, ok?

Socialized medical? HELL NO VARMANT WE AERS AMARACANS YALL HAR HAR SOCIALIZ'N SCUM

IGNORANCE

I live in the USA and have personally spoken about the UK's system with my neighbor who is a Dentist in the Royal Navy. He is currently going back-and-forth between the UK and America until he retires in a couple of years. He and his American wife absolutely detest the health care system in the UK. He has waiting lists a mile long and what he gets paid for his services is terrible.

I have heard enough about it with my OWN ears to say "NO" to socialized healthcare. If you want it, you can have it. Just don't ask ME to pay for your bills or force ME to get it too...

Many people already have healthcare. That is, people with a decent job.

What I see happening with health coverage for all is just another word for more welfare and taxes.

So the people WITH healthcare will see no difference in all of this, except more taxes taken out of their checks. In the end, they know they are helping people with no jobs...thats got to make everyone feel better

Government funding should be used for very few things. Law enforcement, schooling, military, public maintenance, parks (etc) and research (I am sure I forgot somethin). The only times I believe in welfare are when someone gets laid off, or if someone is working 60 hours a week plus, not living out of their means, and can not afford a basic necessity of life (maybe health care, but only under those circumstances).

Can those that opt out of gov't health care for private care or none also opt out of paying the huge taxes that pay for that FREE health care?

I wonder how many people in Europe would trade cutting their tax burden in half for finding their own private health care?

I don't know...
Can gun owners opt out of paying for Police service?
If you have no school age children, do your taxes still go towards local schools?

It's my money and my health.

If I could opt out of paying for other people's kid's education - I WOULD AS I HAVE NONE!

As far as police - law enforcement is what government is all about

thanks for playing - try again!
