Lets make this happen ATS!!!!

It is my wish to conduct and experiment and a peaceful intention for the planet. Starting on Saturday April 11, I would like to organize as many people as possible to simultaneously spend one hour on peace and love. What people need to do in order to participate is to spend that time feeling the peace in the world. This is very different to doing something like praying "for" peace or praying externally. What is needed is to place yourself in the emotional state where the prayer has already been answered and the peace we are striving for has already been achieved. I am still finalizing the details with Princeton University who will monitor the results via a system they already have in place. The aim is to feel the peace, love and prosperity in the world; the love and unity between all of mankind The first stage of the experiment will commence on Saturday April 11 at 10 pm Greenwich Mean Time (this is 8am Sunday April 12, Eastern Standard Time for those of you in Australia) and will continue at the same time each week thereafter. Please check here to work out the correct time for your particular area www.timeanddate.com... you will find the current Greenwich Mean Time (or UTC) shown at the bottom of the page in order to be able to coordinate the time difference for your own particular area to ensure you are participating at the correct time. This experiment will be ongoing so it doesn't matter if you have seen this message late, you are still able to participate at any time. Please spread this information to all you can in order to gain as many participants as possible for these events. We can make a difference Love & Light Max

I like this and count me in!

With so much doom and gloom in this world, it's hardcore important to keep the positivity going and to make it stronger.

I think people should think like this 24/7 (or as much as they can), but setting a date for a large mass of people to do this would be very interesting. Starred and flagged...peace!

Indeed, its time to stop focusing on all the negative in this world. Like Christ said don't acknowledge it!

I live in CDT - USA (as it's springtime), which is GMT - 5 hours.

We Yanks should be able to solve this, accordingly, even though we're stupid and ugly.

So, this event will start at 5:00 pm on April 11th, 2009, in my location. You can count me in. Let's make something real, significant, and just.

Peace, in Liberty, by God,
O-315

Id be up for this but unfortunately I'm in the city of London that day, dodging the flying bricks and stones, flying hockle and spit and insults and slurs, coz the protesters against the G20 summit are ourside my workplace.
I'd throw love and peace back at them if I can, and I'd definately try my best but I can't help but think they'd think I was taking the pee.

Edited to add: OOPs I thought you said April the 1st, nevermind I WILL be participating in this on April the 11th.

"If prayer is so powerful, then why does it seem like the more we pray for peace, for example, the worse things seem to become?" Without bias or judgment, is it possible that what we see as an unsettled world of chaos is simply the Field, the Divine Matrix, mirroring our belief that peace is missing—our "please, let there be peace" echoed back to us as the chaos of life? If so, then the really good news is that our newfound understanding of how the mirror works encourages us to change what we say to the Field! This is why the lost mode of prayer can make such a powerful contribution to our lives. Whether we’re talking about a lasting relationship, the perfect job, or the healing of disease, the principle is the same. We’re simply reminded that the "stuff" that underlies all of creation is a malleable essence that reflects what we feel! So what we choose to create, we must first feel as a reality. If we can feel it in our hearts—not just think it, but also really feel it—then it’s possible in our lives! In the example of peace, for instance, we know that it always exists and is present somewhere! The same is true for health and happiness; they always exist somewhere, or have existed, in some form in our lives. The key is to hone in on these positive qualities of our experience, viewing the world as it already is, with appreciation and gratitude. By doing so, we open the door to a greater possibility. We have already seen what happens when millions of people pray for peace to come to our world. What would happen if millions of people felt the feelings of gratitude and appreciation for the peace that’s already here? Certainly it’s worth a try! In 1972, 24 cities in the United States with populations over 10,000 experienced meaningful changes in their communities when as few as 1 percent (100 people) participated. These and similar studies led to a landmark study, the International Peace Project in the Middle East, which was published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution in 1988.1 During the Israeli-Lebanese war of the early 1980s, researchers trained a group of people to "feel" peace in their bodies rather than simply to think about peace in their minds or pray "for" peace to occur. On specific days of the month, at specific times of each day, these people were positioned throughout the war-torn areas of the Middle East. During the window of time that they were feeling peace, terrorist activities stopped, crimes against people declined, emergency room visits declined, and traffic accidents dropped. When the people stopped their feelings, the statistics reversed. These studies confirmed the earlier findings; when a small percentage of the population achieved peace within themselves, that peace was reflected in the world around them. The findings took into account the days of the week, holidays, and even lunar cycles, and data were so consistent that the researchers were able to identify how many people are needed to share the experience of peace before peace is mirrored in their world. The number is the square root of 1 percent of the population. This formula produces numbers that are smaller than we might expect. For example, in a city of 1 million people, the number is about 100. In a world of 6 billion people, the number is only about 8,000! This number represents only the minimum needed to begin the process. The more the people, the faster an effect is created. While these and similar studies obviously deserve more exploration, they show that there’s an effect here that’s beyond chance. The quality of our innermost beliefs clearly influences the quality of our outer world. This is where the workshop really begins!

Thank you manbearpig.

=The power of prayer increases when more people pray/focus/meditate upon the same desire or value or wish, and it only takes 100:1m to ensure the desired outcome.

The more people who seek to experience Joy, the more Joy there will be in the world.

Sounds good to me.

Prayer, meditation, good intention...why do these sentiments embarrass people sometimes, me included?

Personally, I'm tired of the social stigma associated with sensitivity, sentimentality. (Alliteration unintended, sorry...) I've been trying to do what I can in my community, so consider me one of the hopefully many participating.

Edit - comment not directed specifically at teapot

-Also, have any of you approached people directly, in person, with this idea? How do they react? Is it best to remain anonymous?

Excuse the edits.

No worries!

Personally, I sometimes have a problem with saying what I believe and tend to make snap judgements based upon my perception of how the listener is likely to respond before deciding if I shall be open or not. Embarrasment or fear of it, either in myself or the listener, is not the only caveat preventing me sharing the belief that focusing on the positive will engender the positive. Sometimes I keep quiet because I don't want to be judged or because I want to avoid conflict.

I think the OP idea is fundamentally good. I shall join the prayer! But I shall also be very careful about who, if anyone, I share this information/knowledge with.
