Are some of the people on ATS any different to the power elite they despise,just without the power

Firstly, if i have posted this in the wrong place, I am sorry and please move it to where it fits best.

Over the last few days I have reflected on whether I should continue to stay on ATS, and join in and follow threads.

My reason, is not a critiscm of the site itself,,, more of the content of many of the posts.

Part of me felt I belonged here, and could be part of discussion and threads on many topics I believed in. Finding like minded people who hated the violence, injustice, lies, murders, assassinations, conspiracies that dominate our daily life.

I am not a heavy weight intellectual,,, but I believed I would find like minded people, who had compassion and a desire to see the world a better place. I suppose I would be classed as an humanatarian,,, in the US maybe a Liberal,,, I dont know.

My belief in compassion to fellow human beings, forgiveness and lack of hate
and bigotory is one that I try follow in my llife.

Here at ATS I read the posts on the New World Order,, the Elite,,, the Lizards, the Illuminati,, the Masons ,,, the Satanists,, the CIA etc etc,,, and I read in the threads peoples views on how bad they all are.

And then,,, in some unrelated topic,, that requires understanding, forgiveness, compassion... I would come across those same people spitting out vitriol,, hate, racist comments to a degree that shows no remorse.

In one thoughtless thread,, a poster described a dying 27 year old woman,, as a "media whore" because she was from a reality show. A dying woman a whore.... were of were did that come from.

On another,,, the subject of extreme poverty came up,,, and some of the posts were so bigoted and lacked no compassion,,, I wanted to vomit.

Some of the Israel and Palestine threads were beyond comprehension.

So my question is...... are some of the people posting on here,,, really no different in their values and words to the leaders of the institutions, and goverments, they so despise,,,,,, except redundant of the power,,,, are some of the people here capable of issuing orders to kill masses of people based on their religious and cultural belief,,,, ?


my experience on some if the topics I have joined in on,,, is yes.

And if that is the case,,,,,,,,, then why are we all here... just to add more diatribe to evil that is already around us.

I am sure I will be called for asking such a question.

And I know there are exceptions,, and to those I apologise.

But I ask you ATS.... based on some of the posts.... are we really that different to all that we despise in power today?

How do you think those people obtained power in the first place? For all the crowing that goes on about the 'corruption' of the system, it is a system put in the place by the people that voted. Edited to add: Or didn't vote for that matter.

But this is also nothing new. It's the reason so many 'revolutions' fail. Those that would assume power are often just as self-concerned as those they seek to overthrow.

I could go on... but all I'll say further is that it has a lot to do with human error of judgment, the same erroneous judgment that leads people to believe their leaders are somehow inhuman, either inhumanly evil or inhumanly divine.

ATS is a microcosm, of course, representing a World society within the World society.

One thing I also noticed about ATS: the largest part of the membership are pure scum; bigoted, self-centered, almost animal in their views and outlooks -- just like in the 'real world' or larger World microcosm.

This is not evolutional development toward the Ether awareness (etherical), which is the higher level of Self-Awareness, but continuation of what has driven Earth to it's "knees." Greed is the best word to explain this, releasing self-centeredness, as opposed to the Higher understanding that might be embraced, through increased evolutional development of Awareness of One Self: we are One Within.

As such, you are needed. Why? Because nobody (very few) is paying attention on ATS: they do on some other sites, but here, higher development is abused mercilessly, and those expressing/talking about it, flamed endlessly.

However, think about this: It has a high readership, and since people are not stupid (greedy, yes), there are many who will empathize with you, though few will step forward. I had your same thoughts, but since the new policies of greater decency in posting responses have been raised, I stayed.

Chance for you and me (and others who are evolving) to say something, perhaps to count.

You make some very good points and a lot of people on here probably share them too. I'd guess that ATS only reflects a cross-section of society and includes the same % of malcontents, bigots, liars and losers as anywhere else in life. I choose to ignore those posters like I ignore the same sort of people in real life. Also, internet anonymity sometimes shows the measure of a man or woman that they would disguise in reality.

In spite of those negative folk, there are plenty of good people on here, plenty of good ideas. I think once you recognize which corners of which topics and threads the bad guys hang in, you can avoid them. Skip their posts when you see the avatar. I do! Sleep easy knowing that they are as popular in their own lives as they are on here

Seriously, read a few threads and focus on some of the cheerful members. Admittedly, I post on boards with a more obvious sense of humor but they are there.Keep smiling fella

one thing I noticed here is

everyone is combative and they call you a liar, and they say your a loser, your heads in the sand, your a joke, if you don't agree with their doomsday, negative, ultimately really stupid ideas.

like, get lost, this place was a nice place before the election. post election, too many angry people on here looking for the world to end! get lost!

I think you're misunderstanding the phrase 'media whore'. There's no suggestion of whore in the 'classic' sense as you're trying to imply with "a dying woman a whore....". She is a 'media whore' in that she'll sell almost any part of her life to the media for either money and coverage. No one has called her a 'whore' without the word 'media' in front of it.

This, on the other hand, is something where I do agree with you. However, I have to accept that the board is an international one with many members who have views that represent all parts of the political spectrum. I don't like it, but I have to accept it.

One of the reasons I accept it is because I want them to accept me and give me room for my views too as this thread could so easily be about wanting to see the back of the socialists, the Marxists, the communists and so on. Wanting to expel or banish people (for whatever reason) isn't really going to get anyone anywhere.

I think all of this is slightly un'founded and pretty biased.

This is a conpiracy web sight. this is where people come to talk about things that are not so easily accepted by others. Trying to plee for normalcy by calling an individuals veiws "ultimately really stupid"" is a pretty inefective way to add to the posotive, constructive part of this web sight.

Also, You people don't have to click on every thread. If something really pisses you off then don't read it. If all you're motivated to do is talk down to others and question their reasons for starting a topic on a CONSPIRACY board, then i'm sorry, it's you my friends who are probably in the wrong place.

Calling yourself open minded, and then generalizing every one here as really stupid proves to me how truly open minded you really are.

this is (my words) a reality based site, and at this time in our society, things aren't to pretty. You choose to pick a few quotes out of the 100's of reples posted. Maybe you should reflect on yourself the reason for that. You may want to look at BTS perhaps , its a little less doom and gloom and more current event type of topics. This site will NOT appeal to all people, maybe its not for you.

I was using my words to indicate the World has a lot of bad humanity on it: maybe you're not smart enough to notice that, I don't know, but most of us easily perceive a lack of brother/sisterhood in the World, and also that greed is a basis of this. Somebody has to be expressing this greed, and others embracing it, out of the 6.7 billions on Earth.

So, be one of the smart-alecs who know it all (read your response: plebian).

I say an increased higher awareness would enable more people to help develop a society that could have been, should have been, but isn't: concern for each other, rather than self. I admit, I have a natural flaw in this world I live in, which many have noticed during my life: I have the weakness of having been born a giver, instead of a taker. No wonder I don't understand your kind.

Everyone is a god in their own little garden. We all have things we like and dislike. Prejudice is a way of being efficient. Not that I defend that stance, just that is what it is.

A person can say that they hate illegal aliens, which usually means Mexicans/Latinos. But here is the catch, it is a lump sum value. Now if that same person met Miguel, talked with him and got to know him and liked similar things to the point of becoming friends, they would be friends. The person would still say that they hated illegals, but Miguel is no longer included in that thought.

The funny thing about hate is it also requires love. People say that they hate, but really it is a strong dislike at the most...generally it is indifference until something sparks a stronger emotional reaction.

We can easily dismiss our politicians as morons, yet we leave them to their own devices until they do something we especially feel is stupid, like the bailout/stimulus. Think ATS would erupt in multipage multiple thread debates over this Bill Introduction? I know I am pretty indifferent about it.

Regarding fame, people can be very jealous. But a person is only famous so long as others think they are. When is the last time you have thought about Missy Gold?

But I will say this is a good topic and sum it up as sometimes people overestimate the actual size of their garden.

Some people are just immature and that shows through to their postings.

Other times, someone in the media might do something that we perceive to be stupid or dangrous. We can be compassionate to them ang still point that out.

Like if there is a story about a murderer... id does not indicate lack of compassion to say it was a terrible crime.

ATS is a mixture of all types of people. Just like the world around us.
If 80% of people in the world are people you can't tolerate then there will be 80% on here you can't tolerate.
In life do you avoid these negative people or do you learn to tolerate them?
If you avoid them then you can do that on here too with the 'ignore' function.

I spend a lot of time on BTS and have found that members are very supportive of each other.

If anyone is in trouble or just having a bad day all they have to do is start a thread and other people will jump in with advice and words of encouragement.

I've seen a few threads like that on ATS too, people with medical or sleep problem always get offers of help.

I was a bit surprised at what I read on the Jade Goody thread, but I genuinely believe that if she was a member of ATS/BTS and started a thread detailing her trouble she would have got the same helpful response everyone else gets.

I think, by and large, people here are easier to get on with than the people one might meet in the 'outside world'. I've got ten friends here, I've never had ten friends in my life before.

I've had a few run-ins, but usually it's a bit of a laugh. I think some people enjoy the 'cut and thrust' and probably expect a bit of their own medicine back when they have a go at someone.

Incarnated was the first person I 'had words' with. It was hilarious, he was the first person on a forum to engage with me that way. He took great delight in telling me how I'd never understand anything (implying I was thick and unspiritual) and I took great delight in taking the mickey out of him. I always hope he forgave me, I still laugh about it.

Another thing, that means a lot to me, is that there are a lot of animal lovers here. People are more than happy to tell their pet stories and show off their photos and you don't get any of the 'attitude' that you might encounter 'outside'.

If I get fed up of the way a thread is going I just abandon it and go and find something more to my taste - there's so much to choose from and I find that the majority of people here are thoughtful, imaginative and constructive.

Start a thread asking for help with a problem and see what a variety of solutions are offered, this lot never let you down.

very true, those that would be the new rulers shout loudest about the crimes of the current rulers!

I honestly think that many of the people here suffer from a delusion that they have the only right answer, this is what gets them so angry about the government, it's what got stalin in power and also what lead him to 'purge' millions upon millions of 'dissidents'

The reason i respect Alex Jones above so many other anti-nwo talking heads is he is always quiet clear - those that are guilty will be tried in a court with all their rights. Far too many people want to rise up and 'cut down thee tall trees' (the phrase used to trigger the ruwanda genoside.)

Also far too many who 'think outside the box' are really just hiding their head in a different box, they have the dogma of global conspiracy built into their brains and are far less aware than many sheepl of the reality of the world.

This is a very snitty little post. You have a higher awareness, are a giver and not a taker, while I am a taker, not smart like most people who notice a lack of brotherhood/sisterhood, and I guess I'm one of those greedy ones too. And you are complaining that people are mean here?

I have a radar, a nose for New Age thinking, and when I see it I like to expose it, nail it. Why? Because it is extremely dangerous. People who think this "evolving world consciousness" are the ones who, my reading and study tell me, will be the ones to off the heads of the rest of the people deemed not properly evolved into the great leap of consciousness the New Age religion(s) promise.

Not only is this thinking dangerous for people like me who want to keep our heads attached to our bodies, but also dangerous for the people who submit to this thinking, dangerous to your soul. Pride goes before a fall, and a haughty spirit before destruction.

This site as many other sites/blog are nothing more than a virtual Internet society. If you feel disgusted, simply delete your account and live in the real world, its far more practical than theoretical.

There is a little adjustment in awareness I'd like to offer, so that you can put it into whatever box you have functioning currently:

Study Ingo Swann a bit, regarding his research and statements on 'boxlike' belief structures (belief system).

Then, realize that small, medium, large box-belief-structures are mere stepping stones to formlessness: even bigger box-systems dissolve when one learns (over years of effort) to suspend mind (meditation, successful Stillness Within, a real place), or place Mind in Abeyance: this effectively allows one to reach a place that escapes the common herd of humanity: It is called 'emptying the cup.' Try it, sometime. Wet the box and tear out of it:

Dogma = dog-man. Due to the conditions that are extant upon the Earth, maintaining current behavioral/belief patterns won't bring change for better: I've already described this: most feel it is something toxic that I speak of, but sissy or not, Sister/Bortherhood of Man is where it's at in the hearts of those who Know.
