Ran across this video tonight and thought I would share. Claims to be the only video of a live Oarfish. (my apologies if dupe, I didnt see similar when I searched).

That thing is huge. I hope it didn't die. I thought they said they only come to shallow water when they are ill or dying.

Yeah, looks to be sick/dieing anyway. I would expect an animal of that size to be a bit harder for a guy to control while in water anyway.

The guy holding the head has a blue snorkel with an orange top. Typical with an excursion. The guy is certainly not an expert in deep sea life but can make the assumption a fish on it's side and not fighting back with that size is dieing. Sadly I agree with that dude.. The fish probably died.

WOW!

My dad and I came across one of those in NEWPORT beach CA back in the early 90's.

It was big, dead and stinky.

Very crazy looking - if that thing was not of the dinosaurs I'll be damned.
