Is there any particular part of the picture we are supposed to be looking at?

From what I can see without the answer to the above, is just a rock. The only other thing worth mentioning is the texture of the rock. It looks like it has a sandy texture to it, almost like coral.

Apart from that, nothing.

There's a green plant there. Looks like grass blades. Where is this supposed to be?

Oh yes did not see that. You can't see it from the zoomed out view but if you zoom in on the shadow on the rock there does appear to be a grass like blade coming out of the rock.

Trick of the light maybe?

Where do you see a plant? Maybe I am just not seeing it.

I do see something that resembles an impression of some sort. Like something was pressed down in that spot.

As the picture is in black and white (I think), and the anamoly is a green blade of light...I am going to guess it has something to do with the camera itself.

Unless the image isn't in black and white?

Looks like just a rock to me. What do you think it is?

For those wondering: Make the image fullsize, go to the very large shadow and you will see a green strip of something.

I still think its a camera issue, or something along those lines. Unless the photo isn't in black and white.

I think that is a camera trick with the light.

If you look carefully at it, it seems to kindof fade a little off to the side of the "blade".

Just my 2 cents.

looks like its against the rock, I wonder if its a bioluminescent plant, or a experiment in bioluminescence.

There is also an odd indentation in the ground below it, but it doesn't look like a footprint, maybe it is an indentation made from some equipment or tools. This ground oddity could from investigating the plant, or from doing an experiment in bioluminescence.

The green is in a shadow yet appears very bright. Very likely a film flaw or scanning artifact. Here is another view of the same boulder, more distant.

A green plant??? Where? It's the moon.

Oh wait, I get it, you don't believe it.

That was quick. Yep, it appears that you are correct.

Well the dune buggy in the background there has color so I'm thinking it's not a flaw.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. Color in two pics. Plants love boulders. It's worth trying to find other stuff NASA airbrush artists missed.

And hell, there are shoe prints all over that place. Why are they taking grass to the moon and getting it stuck on their shoes? That makes even less sense.

It looks to me that the rock has cracked open and inside the rock there is a luminescent glow, perhaps.

Very interesting photo!

I only see the green streak in 20925 though. Do you concur? I'm thinking it's a small filament that got on the emulsion during scanning. It'd be nice if we could find another source of a high resolution scan of 20925.

I agree. Nothing seems to appear in the two other photos but they are more distant and don't show the same level of detail.

With the increase in the contrast and brightness of 20925 you can see that the green coloration is smeared between the two "leaves" and again a bit to the right at the top of the green. It appears to be "streaked."

Here's another scan of 20925. Lower res but the green doesn't appear to be there.
