This getting passed by congress will be the epitome of the death of the constitution and democracy.

democracy in a two party system leaves out half the people of the half that is left a majority is 50%+1 (I made those stats up )but you get my drift

Then capitalism will have won and socialism will have lost.

Then all that add-on pork on the bailout (some are calling it PORKAPALOOZA) will fail to get pushed through - thus saving us all a bunch!

Chavez will be pissed and will have to stop his gloating.

The market will take a beating - for a while.

The economy will suffer in response - for a while.

But then we will have learned from this - and we will no longer believe Barney Frank and his ilk - and we will no longer do what Barney Frank and ACORN want us to do; give tons of loans to people who can't pay them.

And then the market and economy will recover and we will all have a smarter CAPITALIST system because of the lesson learned.

That's what would happen if the bailout package fails - IMHO

...maybe assets would then be re-invested in the productivity of the American people, which is really where this whole thing started imho, the investing in foreign labor markets and foreign products have destroyed America's ability to PRODUCE and THRIVE. Which was one of the first of such markets to sniff the change? The automobile market.

America could actually THRIVE and PROSPER if we could once again become a country that produces something besides debt and consumption. The rich would still be rich, but we'd be getting a much bigger cut than we are now, which is -0.
