Check out the new James Bond trailer and tell me this doesn't sound like an Illuminati or Mason reference. I know it's just a movie and they're just using this idea for a good plot, but doesn't it sound all too familiar? One, notice how White says their organization has people everywhere. Then M goes on to say how could they know nothing about it and to find out who this organization is, when she says this they're examining a 20$ bill and here comes the best part... the blue "all seeing eye". Then the villian says they must control the most precious resource of the world (no doubt oil), and that they've already begun to destabilize the government. Either way it's a brilliant plot, do you think this organization will be the Illuminati?

Just so you know it is spelled "Illuminati".

I've made the mistake myself while typing fast.

Edit: You already corrected it, sorry!

Not quite sure but it does resemble the conspiracy quite a bit. Great movie though.

Big Bond fan here, and the answer to your question is yes, and no.

When one is looking at the "new" James Bond, as in Daniel Craig's effort in Casino Royale, and now the upcoming Quantum of Solace, we must also look to the past.

Many people do not know that Casino Royale was Ian Fleming's first novel featuring 007, written in 1953, due to the fact that Dr. No was the the first film produced (released 1962) even though it was the 6th book written (1958).

While the latest version of Casino Royale is very different from the original, it is also very much the same in a "traditional" Bond sort of value. Some of the names and dates have been changed, but it is still a story of love lost, a vengeance born, and in turn, James Bond reborn.

Quantum of Solace is not a mainstream Bond title, and the upcoming film bears no resemblence to the short story featured in 1960's For Your Eyes Only.

My gut is telling me one thing about your question:

That this new Bond, although facing updated issues, is rich with tradition and dedicated to the old guard of 007's before him. IE; dry martini's - shaken, not stirred, Aston Martins, a Walther P99.

Therefore, your Illuminati does exist, and it will be featured in this film.

However, it will be known by a different, more familiar name. Just as we have been re-introduced to James Bond, It is now time to be re-introduced to the global consortium of evil puppeteers known as the "Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion".

Or, more widely known as SPECTRE

Haha yeah true that was my other guess, but essentially they're the same organization. I thought that the eye from the 20$ was very interesting since I have never seen such a reference in a Bond movie well. I think it will be interesting to see what SPECTRE will be up too in this one. I wonder if Ian Flemming based SPECTRE on the Illuminati...
