Today starts CUIL.COM

(pronounced COOL)

The lady who engineered google search techniques came across a better way, and they...

The lady ... and THEY?
... Ja Ja Ja da little ole' lady on a laptop sharing the cave with Obama?

It is a BS search engine...
EWE want proof?
EASY as 1, 2, 3

I typed in 'swastika religion science'

Here is the first response. I received...

6 results for swastika religion science
Wow 6 results.
And mi pages are nowhere to be found.

Here is the second response I received.
Even better...quite scary actually.

We didn’t find any results for “swastika religion science”

Some reasons might be...

* a typo. Please check your spelling.
* your search includes a term that is very rare. Try to find a more common substitute.
* too many search terms. Please try fewer terms.

Finally, try to think of different words to describe your search.

I then tried the same search parameters on Google.
The response?

Results 1 - 10 of about 38,600 English pages for swastika religion science. (0.27 seconds)

And mi threads appear as numero 1 and 2 on page ONE

Cuil in mi opinion looks more like CULL than COOL.

CULL looks like the beginning of Internet CENSORSHIP.
Damn obvious to mi.

6 responses linking the ancient swastika to religion?
6 responses linking the ancient swastika to religion?
6 responses linking the ancient swastika to religion?

LAUGHABLE ... we gotta stick together and kill this search engine...
Who is with mi?
Folks Tell Cuil to *SNIP* (Moderator-Edit) before THEY CULL us!!!

namaste

Chi

p.s. as a matter of fact link to this post to help get the news OUT.
Cuil is Evil

IMHO

Maybe the mods should lock the thread and keep it on page ONE?

Moderator-Note: Profanity edited out.

The best way to kill it, is simply not to use it.
I for the life of me can't think of one search page that will stay online if nobody uses it! Who's going to advertise on a dead search page?

I think cuil has a good idea making their page results look more like a magazine dispaly but the whole purpose of a search engine is results not fancy flair that excludes info or pages based on their own bais or set paramiters, there has to be another alternative.

This search engine does not yet work well. Maybe they still need to spider a lot of the net?

I do not believe it´s the start of censorship, as many other search terms do give results. Like ´honey oil´, ´'___' production´, ´'___' extraction´, and indeed ´reptilians´. At least some of these would not have been available if this was a step toward censorship.

BTW: ´Annunaki´ gave no results either

Oh my. a search engine that's not as good as google!?!
this is outrageous! conspiracy!

clearly, yahoo, altavista, and ask.com are all part of the conspiracy as well! outrage!

is this even a serious thread? come on. there are LOTS of crappy search engines out there. they're not part of some ridiculous censorship conspiracy. if the illuminati types really wanted to censor internet websearches, they would START with google. because 90% of the population believes if google can't find it, it doesn't exist.

this should be in skunkworks, at best.

I reckon that as Psychopump said, they have yet to finish collecting sites or that they are having problems with what they though would be a beneficial feature ("display more comprehensive and relevant results").

I typed in my birth village into it, 0 sites found.
I typed that same village into Google and it found 85,900 sites with the village name in it. Some might say that is a large amount of sites, but any website that covers the village's county or heavy industry/mineral extraction in the UK will mention it briefly somewhere.

Looks like cuil still needs to work out the bugs. But I must admit, it is a beautiful looking search engine.

I typed in "ufo" and it brought up 6.6 million hits. The main results page also broke down the results into the following tabbed subtopics:

  • UFO Sightings
  • UFO Pictures
  • Unidentified Flying Objects
  • more... (this tab is a pull down menu with additional subtopics)

It also has a nifty feature that allows you to explore the search topic by category:

  • Ufologists
  • UFO Writers
  • Rosewell UFO Incident
  • Government Responses to UFOs
  • UFO Members
  • UFO Culture
  • UFO (TV Series)
  • Paranormal Magazines
  • Forteana
  • UFO-related Entities

Each category is collapsible and lists a handful of subtopics that pertain to it. Overall, I find this search engine to be fairly intuitive. Just needs a bit of fine tuning, that all.

Cuil made the mistake of not medicating its ADHD spider. As a result, many webmasters banned it altogether. Amazingly, Cuil claims 120B pages, but the content is so irrelevant, it's laughable.
