House votes to expand Bush wiretap powers, telecom immunity

rawstory.com

Less than 24 hours after introducing a controversial measure to expand President Bush's authority to spy on Americans, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives on Friday voted to approve the administration- and Republican-supported bill, sending it to the Senate where it will likely be adopted.

Civil liberties and privacy advocates forcefully panned the measure, which was crafted behind closed doors in negotiations among moderate Democrats, Republicans, the White House and telecommunications lobbyists.

The telecomm lobby has a voice in government. We don't. It's plain to see.

Since when did telecommunications lobbyists have the right to have a say in law making?
I hope we can come to an agreement, that these guys have NO PLACE in deciding what's best for the American people. In fact last time I checked that was a government job....Are they all on the take?

POWERS OF CONGRESS
To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

It's a power of congress. Not private businesses.

Lobbyists = buying votes.

This will stop when America wake up from their slumber and decide to take back the powers given to us over government by the constitution.

As you can see, you know now for whom our for the people elected officials work for, but remember their power to do all this to the people is legal only on their own laws or until the people decide to fight back and hold them accountable.

The power is with the people, is just that the people has forgotten about this littler fact.

Wow and on top of this they take a $107 billion dollar war bill Bush wanted and made it $180 billion dollars. Our government disgusts me. 2012 and Im running for congress if there is enough of us with common sense who runs we can make a change but sitting back and doing nothing IS NOT WORKING. The government does not give a shiite about us and it is painfully obvious. The dems were elected to make a change and they have made things worse. I hope Pelosi.....nevermind.....

Yeah it is a sad day today. Out with a whimper...
On CSPAN even the republican line was for the most part down about this bill...and it seems for the most part the majority of americans don't even know it happened....

Well, at least Obama is going to try and do something about it.

He's likely to initiate a filibuster over this
