It's seems a little lacking in details to me. My birth certificate has my birth weight, parent's occupation, attending physician, etc. Maybe Hawaii has a different form though. .

Do we know if he actually provided it to them, or they dug it up some how? I don't think they said on the KOS site.

From the comments section on the KOS site (They asked how he got it):

I asked the campaign (50+ / 0-)

This "journamalism" thing actually works sometimes.

I re-requested it and they sent a new document, however at the top of the document it was stamped "duplicate copy"... so I guess we're both right..

I didn't know we were arguing.
But this one says "copy" at the bottom. "This copy ... "

It is so weird that with all that has been said on ATS about Senator Barack Obama, that people have not put all the clues or the pieces of his puzzle together as of yet.

Well, so what if he didn't wear a lapel pin (oh yeah, he started wearing one after North Carolina to continue to get votes). So what if he doesn't hold his hand near his heart during the national anthem (this is strictly my opinion, a true American would do this as a sense of pride and honor to the United States, his/her own Country). So what about Rezko, Ayers, Wright and other Marxist/Socialist associations.....oh yeah, can't have guilt by association. I read that even Mayor Daley of Chicago made such a quote, maybe he has to worry about all his associations since Chicago is so corrupt.

Senator Obama has chosen his associations!!! And I do not believe that he has renounced any of them. He has specifically made friends with these people and they are not acquaintances.

So how does someone who is totally unqualified for the Presidency of the United States even get as far as he did......I doubt it's because of his (written by someone else) speeches which are only good enough if he has a teleprompter to read from!?!?!?

Gaffes, Oh, I meant to say, and of course I would make sure to, and it just goes on and on and on.

Most politicians have baggage, no doubt about it. But, Obama has just started out....he hasn't done one term as a Senator (which he won by making sure to discredit his opponents, real nice guy). But, he doesn't want to be held to the same standards which might discredit him!!! Anyway, as a newbie he shouldn't have the kind of baggage that he has at this point in time. People aren't looking at the details of the man. They are comparing him to other people.....well, that could go on forever.

Senator Obama is not qualified. Fine he meets the standard qualifications to put his hat in the ring to run for the Presidency. But why do people want someone who is so inexperienced? Making a good speech doesn't make it for me! In my opinion, he is as qualified as Al Sharpton and his candidacy was certainly a joke.

In my opinion, people are swinging totally from Bush who they haven't wanted to be associated with as a citizen of the U.S., but now it's Obama people want and his supporters will make any excuses for his actions.

The DNC has proved their dishonesty and lack of intelligence. I felt they were just thumbing their noses at the American people....saying we can do what we want regardless of how you voted!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I'll say what I've said on another thread. People are choosing an American Idol candidate not a candidate for the highest office of the United States.....if he becomes President we will be paying for it for the rest of our lives, literally!!!

BTW, Obama and team can't find a VP to vet (strange, since Obama has yet to be vetted) because there aren't many politicians who have less experience than him!!!

In my State, Massachusetts, up until about 5 years ago, a person could use a birth abstract as identification. It has changed so that each individual must have a embossed certificate of birth. States can vary on what info is placed on the document. However, the hospital records would have more detailed information.

Does it make a difference as to what is on it? I believe so! The American people do have a right to know whom they are voting for. I feel that Obama has this constant belief that the American people should just "trust me!" And, this is why I certainly won't take what he says as fact.

The argument of being racist or hating muslims is always thrown out their whenever anyone questions Obama's background. If thats all the argument is about then perhaps those individuals are the racists and perhaps hate people of other religions. There isn't anything wrong with wanting to know about a candidates origin of birth, his religion, sexual orientation, what bills he implements to Congress, how he votes on issues (present 130 times, but didn't vote?!?!?!)., as well as whether he has actually done anything worthwhile since he has been a Senator? Upper most in my mind is whether he is a patriotic American?

In my opinion, Obama does not represent the United States. I do not believe he feels any loyalty to America. My statement does not mean that he is for Africa or the Arab nations, etc. I think of him as a man without his feet firmly planted in any country. He would do the same if he decided to live in Africa, for instance, same speeches....change, yes we can. Well, until they caught on to him of course, and then he would move on and do the same in the next country, etc.

Parent's occupation? Attending physician? Seriously?

Mine just gives mother and father's name, mother and father's birth date and birth nationality.

That seems like more information than is necessary to me.

You can request a copy of the original in most states, not sure about Hawaii, The 2 times I have requested a duplicate of my birth certificate , I have been sent a copy of the original with the state seal embossed and signature of a notary on the document.

Well, I guess different states and perhaps even counties do it differently, huh? As elevatedone alluded to on the previous page. I think it's pretty much settled, though, right? The fact that this is a laser copy is not an indication that it's a forgery.

The best I can advise for those who think this is a fake is to make friends with the family and see if you can get a look at the real deal. Good luck on that.

It actually has more information than that on it, but that was Cook County, Illinois circa 1962. It's a great document for geneological research!

Your BC has all that information on it?

I know the BC's here in Florida only have parents' names (mother's maiden), place and date of birth.
I've seen this with mine, my 2 children and my ex-husband's BC.

I hate to bring logic to this thread, but:
A US citizen is anyone born on United States territory. This includes much more than the 50 states. When John McCain was born, the Panama Canal Zone (the official name) was sovereign US territory - as much as Manhattan or Georgetown, by federal law. If he had been born in Manila in 1941, he would still be a US citizen, because the Phillipines was US territory, by federal law. Hawaii has been sovereign US territory since the 1890s, so how is it that BHO is not an American citizen? This is beginning to remind me of the hairy-eared old geezers that think we didn't land on the moon.

My Florida birth certificate (1953) has city of birth, date of birth, parents' names, attending physician. That's it. Does that mean my astrologer can sue the Bureau of Vital Statistics for not providing a time of birth in 1953?

Since Hawaii has been a state since 1959 and Mr. Obama was born in 1961 it isn't even questionable. You're right though. Anyone born in a US territory or on a US military base in another country is a born US citizen.

I wasn't trying to make an issue out of it, but if your astrologer wants to initiate a lawsuit on those grounds, tell him or her to "go for it!"

Who knows anymore, they might actually win as scewy as things have gotten.

A nasty rumor was started in a blog on the Internet and was perpetuated here that perhaps he was born in Kenya and wasn't a natural born US citizen. The rumor included accusations about his "real" name and the hope was that finding the birth certificate could prove that he's a liar and not fit to run the country. (If you ask me, people are grasping at straws to prevent him becoming our next president and they'll literally try anything to make him look bad.)

And you're right. There was no logic to it at all.

It really doesn't matter in the long run. We all know the Republicans are holding back the heavy artillery until closer to election time. The primaries and MSM news coverage have all been orchestrated to make Barack Obama the Democratic nominee.

When September and October roll around, that's when they'll drop the big bombshells they have on his campaign. It's sad that so many people really believe they have a choice this election year other than McCain.

Why is this thread still active? I mean,it was a good run and all and I was as curious as anyone else.

But, the mysterious document has been produced. Fini.

I see another thread that is ACTUALLY inviting opinions as to who you're voting for and why. weeeeeeeeee! At last!

Nope, I'm not a supporter of Senator Obama's, but hope this line of questioning is over with.

EXCELLENT!! Hopefully it's the real deal (no reason to think otherwise at this point) and that question can be put to bed.

Why are you so obsessed with what religion is checked off on their birth certificate?

I'm not. But people have been wanting to see that. So it was listed among the reasons why people wanted the BC released.

Did you read the thread? If you had, you would see that I already said people don't get to pick their names or their religions at birth.

one should not be allowed to use that hysteria as a shield to hide their own racism and bigotry.

:shk: You best not be talking about me. If you are ... you are seriously off course.

MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE has the religion of both parents listed.
It also has their occupations.

You must be joking... Who gives a crap what Astrologers want to know?

Actually, I had a
next to that on page one I think. But yes, the astrologers are among those who want to see it .. for the time of birth. And yes, they are Americans and have a right to ask to see it. Obama has a right to deny it to them, but they DO have a right to ask to see it.
