Actually a win for McCain will be a victory for terrorists. Our continued murder of innocent civilians will give them more propaganda than they could ever hope for to indoctrinate and recruit more suicide bombers and fanatical extremists than we can count.

We have enough terr'ists to kill. Obama at least wants to stop creating more. I'm either voting for the Libertarian nominee or not voting at all in November. But between Marxist Obama, Euro-socialist Hillary, and traitor McCain, I'm a lot less worried about Obama. I don't think he has the experience or political allies to be overly dangerous to America.

i never said it did danx, i was stateing that it was my experince. the same as it has been your experince to go along with these polls. my insinuations are drawn from your conclusions not my words.

once again you are reading between my lines when there is nothing to read to draw your own conclusions. although i am not offended by this you should not put words in my posts. you are entitled to draw your own conclusions from my posts this is why i post them, but dont add to what i am saying because you have no idea of the direction i wish to travel..

i know full well of the post you are reffering to and i also know what i was thinking when i wrote it.

Forgive me, but I deeply disagree with you in your assertion that the USA has never been resented more by the rest of the world than during Bush Two. If you know our history, our relationship with the rest of the world has always been contentious. With the exception of our English cousins, we can depend on no one - including Canada - to be there for us. The norm is that we get approval from other countries when they need our money, our troop, or our know-how. It's always been that way, back to the time of the birth of this country when Jefferson, Franklin and John Adams were in Europe trying to get support for our Revolution and recognition of our new country.

"It is the duty of every patriot to protect his country from its government." - Thomas Paine (1737-1809)

You deceive yourself. Obama is a politician, no better than any of the others. The only "change" he will bring is that Oprah will be in the Lincoln Bedroom every weekend (humor there). I'm an Illinois native and I can you that no one gets ahead in Chicago politics without playing the game of watch-my-back-while-I-watch-yours very well. He is probably the least experienced potential presidential candidate we've had in years in this country. He voted "present" 114 times in the Illinois state assembly - tells me he has no backbone and is watching his back and those of his cronies. Politics as usual.

The fact that so many people are jumping on this guy's bandwagon just reveals that this country is more sexist than it is racist, and that people will fall for charm and style over character and substance anyday. He swaggers on stage, talks to the audience as if he is the Second Coming, and they all drink in the Kool-Aid.

First of all what the republicans have done to the US since 2000 is far worse than anything any terrorist will ever do.

The GOP congressman is resorting to childish tactics. I thought they were bred for hardcore attacks not something so foolish as that. Thats like saying Tracey McGrady is Scottish just because his last name is McGrady.

Obama has openly criticized al qaeda and other groups. This is just another red scare crap BS.

France and Spain has already been attacked didn't you know? Canada and other western countries have been threaten before. Don't think that each country is a different separate world from the rest. Its a globalized world out there.

I take it that somebody is naive.

the arab world hated us way before bush took office. so i guess obama will just magicly make centries of hate just dissapear, with his dimocrat vodoo.

Yes they did attack us before bush took office, and maybe they do even HATE us. But the fact is CENTURIES of hate against the US is something the Arabs have nothing to do with. We, the United States of America, have only been around like 2 and a half centuries. Their hate for the US started back in the 40's and 50's when we started involving ourselves in middle eastern affairs, supporting israel, putting troops on saudi arabia, overthrowing irans democractically elected government, supported Saddam Hussein with chemical weapons which he used to bomb the iranians and even his own people, and probably some other things I forgot to list.

yeah, I think their hate for us started somewhere in that area.

thats where alot of people in this nation went wrong.

Education is where we went wrong.

thinking this problem is only 8 years long. you guys need a scape goat. hey there is nothing wrong with that other than you are just avoiding the problem altogether. do you remember history. that arab world has hated us since tripole and even earlier than that.

Wow, TRIPOLI has nothing to do with their hate for us. Why don't you actually read about how the terrorist are recruiting people for their cause. Having military troops on saudi arabia, supporting israel, etc. They are all things that have happened in the last half a century.

would you not hate a country that only needed 4 marines to take down your whole nation. and the sad thing is we could still do it today. LEARN HISTORY then come tell me how ONE person is going to change the worlds out look on us.

Ignorant or arrogant? A little of both I would say. You know nothing of history, and it shows. You know nothing about middle eastern history. Hell, you couldn't even spell Tripoli right. They don't hate us because we are free, or because we could beat them with our military or any crap like that. They hate us because we put troops on their holy land, because we support israel and israel is occupying Jerusalem. They hate us because of all the intervention we involve ourselves in over in the middle east. They hate us because we rape their lands of their resources without a care in the world.

I am not a terrorist sympathizer, but if you are going to list the reasons why they hate us, the history behind it, or why Obama can't do a damn thing to help this country (because he can't) at least get your damn facts straight.

These terrorist want to kill us, but you are nothing sort of a complete fool if you think they hate us because we are free or because of some war we had with a loosely affiliated part of the islamic ottoman empire (tripoli).

With practically same people behind him as the current president has, and McCain has, do you think Barack Obama, or even Hillary Clinton will be any different than George W Bush?

Come on people!! You should have known by now that there is not a single difference between Democrats and Republicans in what they want to accomplish. There are only differences in how they want to accomplish it. They are both the same. You might as well call it a one party system. That's what you have in the United States. A One Party System. Republocrats or Demoblicans.

I am appalled when people justify the raping of America by the amount of money they have. So, everything is just fine as long as I have more money than I used to. Do whatever you want, just give me my cut. So, for enough money, all bets are off.

Are we safer today than we were 8 years ago? No. we're in much, much more danger and have less freedom, to boot. The terrorists were trained by the US and funded by the US and the common man is just too ignorant to know it. The groups that did exist were only a smidgen compared to the groups that exist today. I suppose it's the effect of seeing your grandmother bombed, your culture completely dishonored and having a bunch of jack-booted swaggering John Wayne wannabees with guns pushing you around that incites them to join fanatical groups that are willing to die (we call people like that patriots in this country--guess it's all perspective). I'd be interested to see how many American rednecks would let that go on for long without becoming 'insurgents'.

Saddam Hussein was only in the position he was in because we PUT him there, ourselves. We are responsible. Not only is Bush guilty of war crimes and should be hung, but he's guilty of not upholding the Constitution and he's jsut a smarmy liar. Remember the outing of Valerie Plame, covert CIA operative? That's a treasonous offense. Treason! Did anyone suffer any consequences? Even the fallguy got his sentence commuted, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Bush didn't pay his fine. Yet, he promised to deal with the person responsible. I guess I wasn't understanding the context of "deal" the way he used it. Just a little accountabillity would go a long way, for me.

We supported Hussein, we supported the Taliban (43 MILLION bucks to the Taliban on Sept 10...gee!) we stick our noses into other countries' business constantly and we're paying the price. Al Queda is most likely a construct of the military industrial complex and we're too busy waving flags around and screaming "we're number one!!!!" to notice what's happening. Since 1850, the US has interevened militarily around the world about 160 times, or about once a year. Not to mention our nefarious covert operations and participation in drug smuggling to fund our own domestic war on drugs. The irony is particularly delicious.

Our big decision maker supports the use of torture tactics that every DECENT Republican president has denounced in the past. Even Japanese soldiers were shot (by their own command) for employing waterboarding as a tactic, yet we see our brave leader vetoing a bill to ban the practice.. And research proves it is not effective in collecting evidence because--let's face it---people will say anything when they're being drowned. Everyone wants to live.

People that use tactics like the one used by this coward remind me of the deacons at church that would go to prayer meeting on Wednesday night then meet up later for a good ol' fashioned lynching. Despicable.

The terrorists aren't going to be dancing in the streets, they're going to be packing up and moving to Paraguay where they can't be extradited to stand trial for crimes against humanity. But what can you expect from someone that says the Constitution is "nothing but a **%#$@!* piece of paper, I'm the President and I'll do whatever I want"?

Q. What's the difference between Jane Fonda and George W. Bush?
A. Jane Fonda had the balls to go to Viet Nam.

im intrested to know why you dont think he's the "typical" american?

That's a good question Dale and personally there is no difference but Attari does sort of have a point.

I often wonder why people use "all American" when referring to "white Americans". I often see it used this way in the media and amongst people I know. Some of my Asian friends that dated white people here often refer to them as American girls or boys where as anyone non white is simply referred to by their race. Spanish, Black etc....

When people use "all American" they don't usually seem to be referring to people like Obama but instead the blonde blue-eyed populuce of the States. Most times they tend to be located in middle America for some reason as if us city folk don't count.

As far as this article...lol..it is fear mongering pure and simple. People now seem to be using his middle name as his first...playing up on bigotry and fear. They look at the masses as simple minded rubes...then again this works more often than it doesn't.

Obama is not going to pull off his mask when elected and reveal he is actually Bin Laden and cackle while telling the American citizens "too late you elected me!"

Get real folks.

Living in the US is like listening to Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann bicker back and forth - because that's where most Americans get their debate material. It's kinda sad actually

Again, people don't use any common sense.

Why would the terrorists be attacking only the United States? Why not Canada? Netherlands? Ireland? Denmark? Italy? France? Australia? Scotland? Spain? etc.. etc..

If it's just about the way we live our lives, then Id assume every country I just named (and more) would also be on the terrorists "hit list."

It has NOTHING to do with what how our country lives. It has NOTHING to do with our freedom. It has NOTHING to do with religion or our race.

It has EVERYTHING to do with our foreign policy and our federal governments warmongering tactics. The only reason we are getting attacked is because the people in charge in our country, want us to have military bases all over the Middle East. That is the only reason they are attacking us, and as soon as people like you wake up and actually realize this, maybe you will stand up and demand a change in the way our country is run.

Let me list the countries attacked by militant islam in the past decade:

India

Spain

United Kingdom

Russia (Beslan)

Israel

Algeria

Germany (Munich massacre)

Indonesia (Bali)

And im sure there are many others which im unaware of.

The reasons for these attacks is simple. Islamic terrorism is the scourge of the world, not the special preserve of the US as you suggest.

There is no threat of terrorism and Al Queda is already dancing in the streets declaring victory because we have done nothing but help them grow. Republicans are idiots and I'm disappointed to live in a family of pure 100% brainwashed Republicans.

I glanced by my grandpa watching Hannity last night watching his special on "How could Obama be fit for the Job if he's friends with the terrorists?". Anything that comes out of Hannity's mouth, is believable by a Republican. Nothing bad ever happens in this world unless Democrats do it.

I am not a Obama supporter, but I'd rather have him win than McCain or any other Republican besides Ron Paul (and he's out).

I am honestly surprised and appalled by some of the responses I've read in this topic. How could anyone believe that a win for obama would be a win for terrorists? This is the same BS that Bush and republicans used when he was running the second time. Everyone remember that? "Bush is the only one who can protect us from terrorists" or something to that regard, and Obama Bin Laden himself stated the other in one of his video releases. It doesn't matter who is elected, as long as the USA doesn't change what al qeda deems sinful and wrong, were are going to continually be attacked.

Many of you are right, we have been at odds with muslims for a long, long time. It was only within the last 10-20 years though that everything has come to head. While Bush could be blamed for many of the problems we face today, Bill Clinton, Daddy Bush, and Regan could all be blamed for not trying to tackle the problem years ago.

Honestly, I don't know who I want to vote for. It's either Hillary or Obama for me. I'm tired of Republicans and all their BS.

I am not American so really this should not bother me at all But it does..
And you know what ?? because it shown again the stupidity of the masses

You really think it make a difference .FFS the whole thing is a game

YOU in the US have only ONE PARTY with 2 fractions ..Dem .Rep
Both the same ..are you really that stupid or so brainwashed you cannot see this
Obama or Clinton doesn't matter they are all in the same boat
Dem . or Cons. ..doesn't matter they are all the SAME !! ARE YOU BLIND!!!

Really unbelievable
All the time you heard reasonable words out of many now its voting time and all has been forgotten ..
You really are brainwashed fool they only let you vote to shut you up ..

The whole concept of democracy is fraught ..its the rule of the mob and its a game its orchestrated every X year to shut the masses up
DISLIKE AND HATE BUILDS UP OVER YEARS THEN THEY VENT IT ..BUT LETTING YOU THINK YOU ACTUALLY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE SO THEY STAGE A VOTE ..THE OUTCOME IS ALWAYS IRRELEVANT AS THE POWERS THAT BE DO CON TROLL BOTH SIDE

does this not compute in your little brains ?

I really lost all faith in humanity really ..
You are such fools they play you EVERY 5 years. People think NOW we make a difference now I CAN vote and ITS MY choice
No it isn't ...before you vote and Even know who to vote for it been decided long ago for you ..
Are you all really that stupid..

DEMOCRACY is nothing but the rule of the MOB!
Its made up to control you ..without force ! Very clever and why do i know this ..because this is exactly how I would do it ..
Its the only plausible way
Do you really think that business making billions and trillions would leave this to chance ..no of course not
So you stage it and run it ..making sure you have both side . its been done like this for decades !!!
you the masses have NOno say ..not even in your daily business you have any say
you get told what to eat what to wear what you can keep from your wages and what you allowed to do ..
same in voting
You think the status quo just schanges because you vote ? and this gives you power .? ..no you have the excat same power as you have every day
NONE !!! you are beeing told evrything is life. Nothing is you choice so stop kidding yourself thinking at voting time you have a choice ....
you poor poor poor fools ..if you think your vote makes a difference

WAKE UP :: AND don't vote ...
that's the only thing that could stop em..
If no one votes for they little charade they would be really screwed ..but that's never gonna happen human kind is dumb ...and they like to be told what to do
even though u all scream on forums ..NO NO NO

REALLY YOU LIKE IT BEING BRAINLESS AND DONT HAVE TO THINK FOR YOURSELF

This is pure speculation on my part, but, I don't think you will see a rapid removal of US troop from Iraq under a new president. This issue is a bargaining chip for election to the office. Talking about removal of our troops is being used to secure votes. The 1st priority of a candidate running for office is secure the votes. Once you are in office, you can do what you want. I think big business and war profiteering will be controlling this war for awhile backed by a large part of our government. The president of the US is a 'face' man/woman. The House and Senate by and large steer this country. If you want to affect the US political system dramatically, vote out all the old House Reps every 2 years and the old Senators every 6 years so we have fresh new minds in government at all times.
By the way, I think Obama is a christian.

umm little bit of anger in there eh bud?

and if you don't vote, your don't deserve the freedoms you have. So go out and vote. You can change things. When the people in senate or congress(dont remember which) decided to give themselves pay raises, they all got voted out the following election. Voting does work.
