As a father of 4 kids aged under 11 i spend a lot of time watching cartoons. Wouldnt be so bad except that the modern cartoons bore me to tears.
I sat the kids down and watched a heap of cartoons from my generation on youtube today and they loved them.
I'd even forgotten how funny some of them were. There are some absolutely classic lines.
Here's some of my favorites from back in "the day". Post up some of your favorites to share.

The Hair Bear Bunch

space ghost

Hawkman - Episode 101

Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse - The Case Of The Gun Mix-Up

Batfink - The Short Circuit Case

Atom Ant - The Big Gimmick

Ahh memory's. I could post up another heap but i want to leave some room for everyone else.

Come on and share, mojo.

Wow, can't believe no one has posted this yet ...

Rocky and Bullwinkle Show

I always loved it.

I watched a lot of classic looney tunes (I must have made a wrong turn at Albuquerque) and classic disney as a child.

Here is an excerpt from Make Mine Music - Johnny Fedora & Alice Bluebonnet

The best and saddest part to me was the whale in this really old feature, I think it is a must watch, but kids today would probably be bored.

Some stuff today is ok ... I caught an episode of Duel Masters (I think) and it has a lot of satire that I think kids wouldn't get. Being too lazy to get the controller gave me a few laughs

I love anime though ... I find it so much better than today's normal drivel. I do watch the lesser known stuff to america ... love stories, daily life stuff, I am a sap
Mahoromatic has a conspiracy in it including secret government, aliens, and robots

c'mon now, that is pretty presumptuous ...

I didn't go all the way through it at first because I couldn't understand them at first ... too much accent for me across the pond ... I need the less pronounced accent like on Red Dwarf. I skipped ahead this time to where I could here the puns.

I thought you would rather me not post that I can't understand them ... that would seem a bit pointless, eh?

i know a friend that would love that show, she collects things like that.

try not to read into the silence too much

Snagglepuss! And Speed Racer! Johnny Quest!

I won't post clips because the stuff on Internet is of such poor quality that it makes them less interesting for me.

And remember Bugs Bunny in "That's Opera, Doc" -- as Brunhilde?

My 3 year old loves the old cartoons (especially Popeye and Superman) and will ask for them specifically. My nephews that are about the same age and like the old cartoons as well, in fact they seem to focus longer on the older cartoons more than the new ones.

You mean this one?

You can't beat the older cartons, newer ones are in my opinion mostly awful.

Speaking of which, you can even get google in Elmer Fudd language here

i was going to post up Josie and the Pussycats today. Do you think its strange that i had a crush on animated cartoon girls when i was 12? I think the answer to that question is a resounding "YES!! you Weirdo!! mojo".

I was also thinking about what Realtruth was saying about his nephews enjoying the older cartoons more. My kids are the same now that they've been shown a couple, they are watching every episode of Space Ghost they can find on Youtube. Go figure.
I think its because the focus of the older cartoons was more about well written .storylines and some genuinely funny writers that worked on those older cartoons.
I reckon' the focus with todays cartoons has probably trended more towards exciting visuals/effects and technology and the art of writing a well scripted cartoon seems to be something thats just tacked on. What do you think?
