Look at your username in the first post - you're the dr of love there.

Now you're the Dr of Love.

I have also noticed misspelling of names of other people here occasionally.

For instance the OP of this thread:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Notice the spelling in the opening post, then the spelling in subsequent posts.

Must be a glitch in the matrix, and not really new. When I first saw it, I thought there were two similar accounts by the same user. But both go to the exact same user profile, when clicking on each of the posts "Profile" button.

SkepticOverlord, where art thou?

edit to add comment on "Profile Button"

and to add----

When I have noticed it, usually the misspelled post is the very first post in the thread.

Subsequent posts are spelled correctly.

Login's are case-sensitive. If you don't log in exactly right, you will experience problems with ATS. Your posts will still show with the slightly altered name, but you don't get an edit button.

Voice of personal experience talking here.

If you use the little log in pop-up you apparently don't get an option to edit your posts. If you do it old school style, you should find you can edit.

thats interesting.

I am going to try that as an experiment, if only to verify this for myself.

I was under the impression that your username must be entered exactly, otherwise it should'nt match when compared to the username associated with your password.

Strange, indeed.

Okay in this post, I have logged in as "mechanic 32"

I was actually surprised that I was able to log in like that.

Just a test to see how my name is spelled in the post

strange indeed.

edit to add...

One last comment and then I'll be's quiet...

I wonder if this is also causing the recent problems with the member upload area for some members as well. I didn't check that out though, since I rarely use that anymore.

I never have an edit button either, at least not on BTS

So, I've tried switching the case of my username for login, no difference in my lack of edit button. I've also tried not using the pop-up, no change there either. What gives? I've been a member here for 3 years, and I seem to recall some time ago having the same issue...no edit for me :'(

--Kit.

[edit] to add that i do, in fact, have an edit button on ATS, but not on BTS...*cries*
[re-edit] to add that BTS seems a bit screwey...i still see vote for WATS buttons on people's mini-profiles on BTS, but didn't we get rid of that method of the whole WATS thing? I'm confuddled.

Still no edit button. I seem to be screwing up even more now. I'm about to go postal. Is this a conspiracy? Is this a psy-op?

Peace

DLuv,

Logout, then log back in using the old school login page. You'll then see the edit button. I just tested it, and loging in using the popup box won't let you edit. Strange, but true.

Rasobasi, Implosion, you're both right. I finally tried what you said and it worked.

I guess it's a glitch.
