df1 for President

I, df1, hereby declare that I am running for the office of President of The United States and are running for the Socialist party.

In short, my platform is simple:
Our ancestors fought the American Revolution to take governmental power from a privileged elite and give it to the people. A new elite, the money lenders & corporatists, has taken control of our government. The elitists must go. The time is now.

To expand:
It is my hope that no American will cast a vote for or against me because of my political party. It is not relevant. It is not relevant what corruption of ideals and abuse of government powers that existed in some other time or in some other country. I am an American and as an American I give all Americans my sincere and solemn vow that every decision I make as President of the United States of America will be my own and for the sole purpose of serving the best interests of the United States of America and the American people. I make this vow with no hesitation or reservations.

My fellow Americans, control of the United States government has been stolen from the American people by an international cartel of money lenders and business interests that have used and continue to use their money & power to corrupt our elected officials, subvert our monetary system and to marginalize the US constitution, the foundation our constitutional republic. This cannot be allowed to continue. And this will not be allowed to continue under my administration. I promise and swear to use the full power of the presidency to eradicate this corruption at all levels of government, to reinstate the United States Department of the Treasury with powers necessary to mint currency & manage the money supply and to once again elevate the Constitution of the United States of America to it's proper place as the law of the land.

The American people are being robbed by a morally corrupt and unfair system of taxation which has no constitutional or legal basis whatsoever. This system uses complexity, fear and intimidation to impose compliance on the American people. Our nation is sufficiently wealthy that we can handle the operation of government, maintain our physical infrastructure and provide for the social needs of the American people without taxing individual incomes and harassing the American people. My administration will not tolerate the continuation of this gross abuse of power which economically subjugates the American people to government and I will bring an end to this travesty.

The power brokers have seized control of the press and communications media in order to manipulate our hearts & minds using fear, deception and outright lies as a weapon against the American people. This cannot and will not be allowed to continue under my administration. I will use every power at my disposal to take ownership of the public airwaves from the privileged elite and return it to the rightful owners, the American people.

Since the tragic events of 9/11 our government has used fear, deceit & national security as a basis to obtain legislative passage of a variety of laws and policies which unconstitutionally deny all Americans the liberty, privacy & freedom of speech which is our birthright. I will use every power, strategy, tactic and method available to me to repeal and/or block enforcement of these wholly unAmerican acts. It would not be possible for me to take pride in being an American, while allowing these heinous assaults on the US constitution to continue.

Most threats from outside our great nation stem from an long running interventionist & imperialist foreign policy that interferes in the internal affairs of other nations. My foreign policy will be based on establishing an America that is at peace with the world and provides for the defense of the lives, liberty, and property of the American people on American soil from foreign attack. I will be guided by the principle of non-intervention which avoids entangling alliances, engaging in foreign wars and undertaking ill conceived of imperialist adventures. To that end upon being elected, I will immediately suspend all foreign aide, begin the withdrawal of American troops from all foreign nations, terminate all mutual defense treaties and resign from the United Nations.

As steward of America's natural resources I will insure that the American people are adequately compensated for the sale of their resources by negotiating the best possible price. Further my administration will investigate all existing contracts for the sale of our natural resources and I will void & force a renegotiation of any contracts that defraud the American people of a fair payment for their resources.

Health care is a great burden to both the individual and to businesses. My administration will lift the health care burden from both by instituting single payer universal medical coverage that is fully subsidized by the US government. The system to do this is already in place and health care providers already know how to use this system, it is called Medicare. We have no need to examine foreign health care systems for a solution. All that is needed to use this existing system for everyone is to remove the retirement age limitation in the software and it is good to go. This can easily be paid for from the proceeds we will net from not paying for the national security of foreign governments.

Invention and Innovation were once the hallmark of American business, but that is no longer the case. We are taking a good old fashioned butt whipping in global trade area because we have allowed our educational system to deteriorate. We are no longer the best educated population in the sciences, technology & mathematics and that must change quickly, therefore I am proposing that government fully fund education from nursery school through doctoral programs to anyone that has the intelligence, diligence and work ethic to educate themselves. Economic means should not be an obstacle to anyone of any age that wants an education. Businesses will gripe and moan about this, but in the end businesses will tangibly benefit by America having a better educated labor pool. And this will once again restore America as the model that other countries choose to follow.

Upon election I will pardon everyone convicted of a victimless crime and order that their records be expunged of all such crimes. Our prisons are overflowing with these non-criminals that are jailed for morality crimes. If I must issue pardons daily to stop this nonsense I will do so. Also I will defunded the drug war and reassign all DEA agents to others duties that are consistent with securing liberty and protecting the lives and property of the American people.

I'm not one to make idle promises, but I can well understand the American people having their doubts. To that end I will do everything in my power to make my administration and the processes of government as transparent as humanly possible, so that everyone can monitor whether I'm doing what I have promised you or not. Further I give you my personal commitment that I will spend a minimum of one day per week visiting an American community to obtain input from you the people which have trusted and employed me to administer your government. It has always irritated me that foreign leaders have had greater access to our leaders than American citizens. I will not forget you after I'm elected and the campaigning is finished.

As a candidate for this office, running on this website, I promise the following:

I will uphold the Terms & Conditions of AboveTopSecret.com at all times

I will conduct a campaign that focuses on issues

I will seek to always answer issue-based questions with direct honesty and integrity

I will not, through my actions, communicate libelous or slanderous statements or advertising messages directed toward other candidates in the primaries or general election

I will not, through my inaction, allow libelous or slanderous statements or advertising messages directed toward other candidates to be made on my behalf

I will participate in every debate and avail myself to questions from the general population

If selected in a primary election, I will accept the nomination to run for my party for The President of The United States and select a capable running mate for my Vice President

I understand that if I fail to live up to the higher standards described herein, I may voluntarily or forcibly be required to end my candidacy or Presidency if elected.

No, not exactly, more difficult then that. If a substance is proven to have no direct health side effects it can be legalized, so long as there is an age of maturity attached to it, like 21 for drinking beer, I would say 18 (for drinking to) and it would have to be an industrialized market, not Joe planting pot in his back yard to sell at school. Though I would still support a state tax on drugs like pot to make them more expensive, it is a bad habit that should not be supported by the state.

EDIT:

Also, drugs like Coke, Meth, Horin, '___' and other mind altering drugs would still be illegal, being caught with it still would mean jail time, selling it would bring about harsher sentences. You have the right to do as you wish but you are obligated to face up to the punishments.

Setting the dopers free is fine by me. they can go to jail for assault, robbery, vandalism and the like but not just because they want to get high.

Why should they get food and shelter on my dime? If they just want to be junkies let them be junkies until they freeze to death under a bridge.

No skin off my teeth.

We can get some nice jobs out of cleaning up the corpses they leave behind. It would double as a sort of scared straight program too.

I love this idea!

Would probably work wonders on the gene pool as well.

What I would like to see from the candidates is a declaration against the current practice by employers of forcing workers to take drug tests. It's a violation of the 4th amendment, isn't it?

I mean, c'mon, what's the crime of smoking an occasional blunt and watching reruns of Beverly Hillbillies with a big bag of Doritos? I'll gladly pay the sin taxes.

Oh yeah, I didnt even think of that. It would work as a kind of auto-eugenics. Not a government sponsered rounding up of uncleans or anything like that but a more natural selection of people who put smack above their own survival.

Im with you on the testing. If youre too stoned to work or caught stealing to fund a bad habit you get fired. Simple enough. No need to test. Then, once you cant get a job because you have no references or a city/state wide reputation you can go under the bridge to die.

Its a beautiful system. It completely takes care of itself.

I am with you. I oppose employer drug testing as well as employer financial testing. This practice started when government imposed these testing requirements on businesses seeking government contracts and it expanded from that point. I propose that we undo this government caused damage by not giving future government contracts to businesses that impose employee drug & financial testing. Most states are "employee at will" states where an employer can terminate at employee at anytime without cause, so this would not interfere with the ability of a business to get rid of non-productive employees.

My position is based on this as a matter of human dignity rather than my wishing to encourage the use of drugs. No American citizen should be made to feel owned by their government.

I'll ask you the same questions that I'm asking everyone else....

1 - Your stand on the rights of Americans to own and bear arms....

2 - Your stand on abortion laws ....

3 - Your stand on changing the Constitution to exclude gay marriage .....

4 - Your economic platform ....

5 - Your stand on the 'death tax' .....

6 - Your stand on the war in Iraq and how/when (IF?) to end it .....

7 - Your stand on our security wall on the southern US border (and then on the Northern border?) ...

8 - Your stand on other security issues such as security in our ports etc ...

9 - Your stand on intelligence gathering within the USA in regards to terrorism and constitutional rights -

10 - Your VP and cabinet appointments?

11 - Your education in America fix? (or does it need it?) Your thoughts on what to do with 'no child left behind'....

12 - Your policy for foreign aid and 'forgiving debts' .....

13 - What federal funding, if any, would you put into medical research etc etc? Including FETAL stem cell use yes or no??

14 - Afghanistan? Your policy there ....

15 - Oil companies, pharmacuticals, etc etc? Any thoughts in that area as far as your administration goes?

16 - The United Nations .... Your policy and thoughts in regards to that and how your administration would deal with them??

17 - Amnesty for illegals or send them back (anchor babies and all)??

18 - NASA ... further funding, more funding, less funding, a complete change ??? What would you and your administration support in this area?

19 - ANWAR ... drill or not drill? Alaska's state right to drill (they want to) or will your administration forbid it due to the possibilty that the Refuge could be damaged in the future?

20 - Alternative energies .... Solar, wind mill farms, etc ... what are your thoughts and plans in this area to make us no longer at the mercy of anti-American oil rich countires?

FANTASTIC opening statement df1. You are very clear on where you stand. That's refreshing. I have a few questions ...

I will immediately suspend all foreign aide,

AWESOME!
(geeze, twice in two days that I agree with you on something!

begin the withdrawal of American troops from all foreign nations, terminate all mutual defense treaties

Could be problematic. A lot of these treaties are tied to American exports and other agreements. It's a balancing act. But I understand your thought behind it.

and resign from the United Nations.

OMG!! A THIRD thing. Man .. we are almost on a roll.

We have no need to examine foreign health care systems for a solution.

From what I see they are not any better than ours. In fact, in some aspects I'd say they are worse. But heck ... examine away. How about a third option - not our health care, not euro-health care, but a brand new never-before-seen health care? Let's think 'out of the box' ...

I am proposing that government fully fund education from nursery school through doctoral programs to anyone that has the intelligence, diligence and work ethic to educate themselves.

Excellent. How will you do that without an income tax? (not being a wise-guy, I'm asking sincerely)

It is the governments job to protect the people, even from substance. It has nothing to do with cattle or sheep or any other barn yard animal you wish, it is a patriartical government that is designed to serve it's people and to protect them. Horin, Coke, Meth, they are dangerous, they are lethal, they are corrupting, and if left unchecked, if allowed to go rampant it will inflict severe harm to society and the social structure of the nation. The government has a responcibility to regulate and ban harmful substances.

1 - Your stand on the rights of Americans to own and bear arms....

I fully support the right to keep and bear arms. The only lawful way to change this is via a constitutional amendment. I will pardon anyone convicted of non-violent weapons possession as these laws are not constitutional.

2 - Your stand on abortion laws ....

I support a woman's right per Roe v Wade.

3 - Your stand on changing the Constitution to exclude gay marriage .....

Marriage is a social contract. Any amendment restricting individuals from voluntarily entering into social contracts would be absurd. I oppose such an amendment.

4 - Your economic platform ....

Currently a bunch of bankers print the money and control the money supply. They do this in some mysterious manner that always results in the bankers making a profit no matter what the economy is doing to everyone else's money. The people would be better served with the United States Department of the Treasury printing and controlling our currency. Ron Paul's expertise as secretary of this department would be useful. The income tax system and the IRS must be abolished.

5 - Your stand on the 'death tax' .....

Heavily tax the beneficiary on any amount received over 5 million dollars. I could be swayed to move this number up or down.

6 - Your stand on the war in Iraq and how/when (IF?) to end it .....

We should start air lifting our troops out of Iraq immediately using massive air cover to insure their safe departure if necessary. We have damaged both America and Iraq and our staying longer will in no way mitigate the damage we have already caused.

7 - Your stand on our security wall on the southern US border (and then on the Northern border?) ...

The invention the of the ladder makes this idea obsolete.

8 - Your stand on other security issues such as security in our ports etc ...

The security of our ports is inadequate, as is the security of our borders. The troops we now have protecting the national security of various foreign countries should brought home and should be used to dramatically improve both. So as not mislead anyone, I favor an open immigration policy, but believe we need to know who has entered our country.

9 - Your stand on intelligence gathering within the USA in regards to terrorism and constitutional rights -

Per my platform statement:

df1 platform
Since the tragic events of 9/11 our government has used fear, deceit & national security as a basis to obtain legislative passage of a variety of laws and policies which unconstitutionally deny all Americans the liberty, privacy & freedom of speech which is our birthright. I will use every power, strategy, tactic and method available to me to repeal and/or block enforcement of these wholly unAmerican acts. It would not be possible for me to take pride in being an American, while allowing these heinous assaults on the US constitution to continue.

10 - Your VP and cabinet appointments? (any for me? Just teasing on that )

At this time I have not determined an ATS running mate. I do have some thoughts on cabinet posts, but I've not spoken to the individuals I would consider. Ron Paul would make an ideal Secretary of the Treasury. Dennis Kucinich would make an excellent Secretary of State, his first inclination would be to seek peaceful resolutions instead of war. The zeal with which Eliot Spitzer as Attorney General would pursue corruption is attractive. I don't have a particular individual in mind at this time but I would want the top military mind available in the position of Secretary of Defense. When necessary I want someone that knows how to kick butt and take names.

11 - Your education in America fix? (or does it need it?) Your thoughts on what to do with 'no child left behind'....

The federal government should fully fund education, nursery school to doctoral programs. Economics should not be an obstacle to getting an education at any level. Our public schools are inadequately equipped technically. Contrary to the position of the teacher's unions, more people with just a college degree should be allowed to enter the teaching ranks without a degree in education. We need more teachers. I do not object to a 100% voucher based system, but the details would need to be worked out. To compete in the global trade arena we need to get a lot smarter.

12 - Your policy for foreign aid and 'forgiving debts' .....

We won't be giving foreign aid or loans, so their will be nothing to repay. We will continue to provide humanitarian aid and relief in cases of disaster without any expectation of repayment. This is the right thing to do and it is the American thing to do. We should treat our own citizens with the same generosity in cases of disaster.

13 - What federal funding, if any, would you put into medical research etc etc? Including FETAL stem cell use yes or no??

I favor providing substantial funding to individual researchers at universities with the resulting drugs being released to the public domain. No limits should be placed on stem cell research, fetal or otherwise.

14 - Afghanistan? Your policy there ....

Bring the troops home.

15 - Oil companies, pharmacuticals, etc etc? Any thoughts in that area as far as your administration goes?

These are two distinctly different industries which makes it difficult to address both in the context of the same questions, but I will try. Former oil and drug company executives need to be removed from government positions that regulate and have oversight over those industries. A major conflict of interest is occurring in these areas. I think we need to better enforce the laws and regulations that we already have on the books.

16 - The United Nations .... Your policy and thoughts in regards to that and how your administration would deal with them??

We should resign from the UN, it has become a den of inequity. I favor sitting down with other countries to discuss how we can work together in manner mutually beneficial to our peoples, however the UN is a fubar situation.

17 - Amnesty for illegals or send them back (anchor babies and all)??

We should have open immigration at border crossings, but our borders should be secure. The border can be monitored by satellite, our military has stuff far beyond Google Earth, lets use it and end this talk about building walls.

18 - NASA ... further funding, more funding, less funding, a complete change ??? What would you and your administration support in this area?

Like most government programs we need to look at what we are funding keeping the good stuff and throwing out the trash. I favor increased funding of small private space exploration efforts more than increasing NASA. Just like government medical research funding should come with strings attached that share the beneficial results with everyone since public money made it possible.

19 - ANWAR ... drill or not drill? Alaska's state right to drill (they want to) or will your administration forbid it due to the possibilty that the Refuge could be damaged in the future?

I am open to drilling as a necessary evil, however I do believe it will be required in the foreseeable future. I would veto drilling without some extremely compelling reason to do otherwise.

20 - Alternative energies .... Solar, wind mill farms, etc ... what are your thoughts and plans in this area to make us no longer at the mercy of anti-American oil rich countires?

Government should provide personal implementation grants to individuals and cooperatives. Research funding with strings attached.

Especially since the IRS would be abolished. Wouldn't this mean the end of income tax? How do you want to compensate?

How can you do this without an income tax?

Our entire economic system is a sham designed to enrich the bankers. The income tax system is a bureaucratic tool use to oppress people. As things stand the FED prints the money on behalf of the US government and releases it into circulation, employees are paid and a portion is taken out of their pay and given back to the government. All of this money is put toward the debt which goes to the banks that make up the FED, no income tax dollars are actually used to pay for any programs. The US Treasury will take over printing money. Treasury will simply print the amount of money it needs to do operate the government.

I'm sure their will be more questions and I'm sure that some folks will think I'm out of my mind.

That scares me. What do you mean. Please elaborate.

The handful of media conglomerates that own the news media do not represent the people adequately. I want to mandate local ownership of the broadcast television & radio stations. Further I want public television and radio to be required to carry citizen Ipod broadcasts and video blogs as its primary source of programming for both news and entertainment.

Could be problematic. A lot of these treaties are tied to American exports and other agreements.

I never said everything was going to be easy.

How about a third option - not our health care, not euro-health care, but a brand new never-before-seen health care? Let's think 'out of the box' ...

I have many ideas on improving our health care, but job one is to get everyone covered immediately. I do not want to wait years until Obama starts going through a midlife crisis to make this happen. Using Medicare as the foundation will allow us to implement in months instead of years.

My cessation of the drug war will allow folks to buy the meds they need without having to pay a doctor to write a note (prescription) giving the patient permission. Recurring prescriptions in particular. This would cut medical cost dramatically. Nurse practitioners working under the supervision of a doctor could perform many of the functions of a general practice doctor without the high cost.

I see socialism as tool, not a goal. I support socialize health care, education, a Department of the Treasury taking over the role of the FED from the bankers and forcing the media corporation to relinquish control of the local broadcast channels. Also I want the government to take control of our natural resources from the energy barons that are ripping off the American people. People should not ruled, but let their be no doubt that I am willing to bring the powers of heaven and earth to bear on corporations that are screwing the people.

I have never claimed to be a pure socialist or any other ideology. Were I running as a libertarian you would probably say I don't seem decidedly libertarian, however my candidacy certainly has libertarian elements. My desire is to implement government in a manner that best serves the American people. Call me whatever ideology you prefer.

Perhaps you would prefer calling me a populist,

I have no problem with corporations making fair profits, however I will not tolerate them corrupting our government or using their size to step on the American people. If corporations want to do business on a level playing field they will have no reason to fear my Presidency.

and, most importantly, would you seek to create a Socialist Republic format?

I'm not an ideologue. I will use socialism as tool when that is what best serves the American people. Any socialist programs I implement will be consistent with the precepts of the US constitution. If the legislature insists on representing the corporations and special interests at the expense of the American people, I will not hesitate to use the Presidency as to bully pulpit to rally the people to call for another constitutional convention, however I would not endorse a socialist republic at such a convention.
