I always thought the G-36 was the best Assault Rifle available. This seems to reinforce that!

From the Strategy Pages, Read this

I am also interested in peoples opinion of my other favourite, the FN2000

FN2000 Information

Anybody know of any video or info on the FN2000 on the net? I cant find much at all....

As a Belgian, I chose the FN2000 of course.

I've read this in your first link : " This is important as many in the army are asking for something in the 6-7mm range to replace the current 5.56mm. A larger round would reduce instances where one hit did not knock down an enemy soldier, and would also make it easier to blast through doors, walls and dirt "

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA........... Can't stop laughing......HA HA HA HA HA HA..........I remember what they were saying about the 7.62 mm and why the 5.56 mm was a so-called better caliber....No really, I can'ts stop laughing.

What a bunch of clowns.
It took them 30/40 years to understand what I understood in less than 1 second !

Anyway, thank you for this topic.

Link!

This XM8 is starting to sound and look better..

It might actually be very good when issued..

With some OICWs..

Also,

About FN2000..

Before this i actually thought that this existed only on 'Splinter Cell'..

As i am not 'into' these sci-fi weapons..

And it really doesnt sound or look good.
(only the 'FN' part of it sounds good, as FN has made good weapon like MAG, FAL, CAL, FNC, P90 and FiveSeven.. not to mention HIGH POWERs..)

According the the Janes Subscribers site, the FN F2000 came out on top in a recent Intense reliablity trial financed by the company Hill and Norton, for an unspecified southeast asian country ( I suspect Malaysia ).

Included in the trial were the FN 2000, g-36, SAR-21, M-4, M-16A2 and AK-107

Remember, the FN F2000 is expected to have a unit cost 1/4 that of the M-29 OICW...

I've once ago downloaded this from HKPRO. Now it's at the D-Boys gun site. This pic is from the Marine show, I think.
What we see here is a prototype- operational.

Or... after further thoughts on this subject... maybe a mock-up, but who ever knows... I could buy myself such in a toy store...

Found some interesting pics:

Stupid peace of plastic crap!

Looks like a 3DSM render...

Maybe the plastic protects the mechanisms

This looks better

Dud...

Still, we all know HK products are perfect weapons... this should become one in time... these are prototypes, but this new, less plastic look is very sexy...

Matt black is standard for military weapons so why should the [X]M8 be in any different color..

But i do realize that this yellow is for desert..

and is actually a 'color of sad'..

But its just plain ugly to my eyes..

(The color is.. the weapon itself is quite fine.. like you said G36 with more plastic..)

Hehe Russian, its not that we are out of metal! Its for lighter carrying, easier accessibility, etc..don't judge a book by its cover..

Looks very impressive. It looks as it might be cheaper to make and lighter.

The FN2000, hands down. Fn makes a fine firearm, period.
