Rugby, Australian Football: Lobbe joins up with Sharks

Argentina international Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe has finally joined up with his Sale team-mates - eight months after signing a contract with the Sharks. The 30-year-old sustained a knee injury while playing for his country against New Zealand in July, before he had even linked up with Sale for pre-season training.

But the forward, who can play at either lock or number eight, has now jetted in to start training and has already set his sights on making his Sharks debut.

He said: "I am hoping to prove my fitness and should be ready to play for Sale Sharks from the end of February."
