STNG is personally my fave... Loved the ship, loved the women, and the intro of Q was fantastic.... John DeLancey (the actor who plays Q) is a hell of a nice guy by the way...

Next Generation is my favorite...but, DS9 was had the dopest story lines...I'm a girl. I liked all that pend up sexual frustation floating around the space station. The worm hole-the shape shifters thing...you gotta give it up to DS9.

And yeah, the BORG were the best villians, but you gotta give it up to the thorn in Data's side--his evil twin brother, Lore.

I haven't seen mucn of 'Enterprise' but it looks pretty good.

The 'Borg' episodes of TNG and the 'Dominion Wars' of DS9 have to be the best of the series. Although I could never uderstand why they didn't use the nanobots against the Borg at the beginning - the 'The nanobots are sentient beings' stuff was just too ridiculous for words.

I suppose they could always have uploaded Win98 to the Borg ship and waited for the Blue Screen of Death to take down their life support.

Who do the Borg call for tech support?

Isn't anyone else just disgusted with "Enterprise"?

I had SUCH high hopes... the first mission in the mythos! The beginnings of the history of Star Trek?

Then they write this little multi season tangent "that never took place" in the previous series (which took place after) meaning when all is said and done... we already know Archer will "win" and the entire series of Enterprise will have never taken place because it's a temporal paradox that never happens in Star Trek, TNG, Voyager, DS9, etc.

Doesn't anyone see what I'm saying? We KNOW Enterprise is a temporal tangent. It NEVER happened in the original history of the previous shows.

And within this big tangent that never happend they keep having tangents that never happened! Flox hallucinates a whole episode while everyone else sleeps. Archer fails on the mission, grows old, then does something in the future to start over and try again. Blah, blah, blah, over and over. I thought the Holodeck was a joke on Voyager, but Enterprise has made TIME it's bitch. It's a joke. NOTHING EVER HAPPENS. They hit reset every week.

It sucks. It's cheap writing and an insult to fans that deserved to see the orgins of the mythos. For example... Klingon wars, the creation of the neutral zone, first contact with every race we know from the old series, etc. etc.

Plus it's just BORING. The quiet, dark set. The complete LACK of dialogue. They just freaking stare at each other in the dark for dramatic climax. Sheesh. I'm disgusted as a Trekkie. :shk:

But Deep Space 9 is being shown in a week long marathon on Spike next week.

All the episodes in order. Tape it. Or watch it like me. :shk:

I need something new. Seen every piece of crap on TV four or five times. Even Hercules.
Can't take any more Law & Order, Law & Order CI or Law & Order SVU. Next Gen gets old after the 12th time. Sliders and Lost World make me want to kill myself. And Highlander? Bah. I'm even tired of X Files. And for some reason StarGate sucks the second or ninth time around. As a joke I started watching MacGuyver and A-Team reruns. Kill me now.

Yay, Deep Space 9. (And Stargate Atlantis)

Can anyone tell me what the mass appeal is regarding ST over all the other scifi series?

A couple points to Star Trek. First it came around at a time when all previous glimpes of the future were apocolyptic. It also offered an alternative to the cold war where all the Scotties, Uhura's, Chekov's and Kirks, etc. of the world came together in socialist harmony for the good of man.

Having said that it also INVENTED a complete mythos that spawned most all imitators. It's Shakespearian in it's classic morality plays, philisophical in it's diatribes on mankind, futuristic (yet hopeful) in it's vision and most of all a comfortable military like structure from which to weave a tale. We have highly moral, motivated, archetypal anyman characters facing new and unique challenges and winning by a common theme of man's ingenuity and ability to change above all else. Not fire power.

That's my opinion anyhoo.

I was specificly refering to the new series. Is it because it has such a foothold to begin with? I am a big scifi fanatic, but have never kept interest in any version of Star Trek. Just courious.

Oh, then as I've posted all over the place. I agree with you. I think Enterprise sucks. Cheap writing.

Raised on Kirk and company, cool.
Favorite gotta be TNG, BUT I think the best story line was the war with the dominion in DS9.

Deep Space 9, ST:TNG, and Voyager. I just can't seem to get into Enterprise. And since I didn't really see ds9 when it was on, they're like practically new to me

I love the Time-Stuff in Enterprise, my friend does to, we just break our heads over it all the time.

The only error is that they added Star Trek in the title just when the Time Stuff began,

It never happened so it shouldnt have the Star Trek title.

Anyone notive the Enterprise references in the game Elite Force 2?

I want Enterprise to DIE. Die a horrible death. It would be the first trek series to be cancelled. Even Voyager, with its constant holagraphic abuse, was better.

I wish they would get rid of it... maybe do a series from antoher race's point of view, like the Romulans. You can never get enough of their sneakiness, right? *sigh* Failing that, I'd like to see the expected aftermath of the Dominion Wars. Any guesses on recurring characters or plotlines?

Have to agree with the feelings for Enterprise.
How about "Empire" , week to week Klingons and their dealings in the galaxy. You could have guests show up almost every week.

I have come to loathe Worf. I have decided that he too must die, after his gratuitous use on DS9. I mean, he WAS cool. Then, he warped the plotline and made it klingon-centric.

Ah but what about that crusty General Martock?

I was down with Martok, because everyone only dealt with him occasionally. plus, there's no way in hell Worf deserved BOTH Daxes. That crushed my spirit, as ezri and jadzia=hotness. It was the nail in the coffin.I could accept his poorly fleshed out character out of nostalgia for sure. but there were far too many klingon episodes near the end.
