A Feast of Zombies.

Yummy, but does it capture that sense of sharklike feeding-frenzy behaviour?

A stockmarket of zombies?

How about something a little more generic. Maybe a "bunch" of zombies. They're a pretty mindless bunch anyway.

For the slow, limp-along rotters (Romero style):

Small to medium groups: A shamble of zombies.

Larger groups: A horde of zombies.

Regional infestation: A plague of zombies.

For the quick and rabid type (28 Days Later style):

Small to medium groups: A pack of zombies.

Larger groups: A frenzy of zombies. A swarm of zombies.

Regional infestation: A scourge of zombies.

But seriously, zombies piss me off. Like, you'll be walking along minding your own business and they just come right up and start grabbing at you and dropping rotten flesh all over your new shirt. It's like, learn some respect for people's personal space, will ya?! Jeez... And all zombies are the same, all they ever have to say is "braaaaaaaiiiiiinsss", over and over and frikkin OVER. Why don't they get some new material? You know, spice it up a little? What are they, brain dead? Once, just once, I'd like to hear a zombie say, "crrraaaaaanial matter", or "hyyyypothaaaalaaamussss", but no, always the same tired lines.

A myriad of zombies, a multitude, a multiplicity, a morass

A congregation
A priesthood
A mighy fortress

A legion, a strong turnout, an ocean, a quagmire

A commonalty - community - collection - commune

An infinitude of zombies
A space continuum of zombies
A perpetual loop of zombies
Back to back, wall to wall zombies

The ubiquitous undead.

If they're well coached and winning on a consistent basis, they're known as a TEAM.

If they lack good coaching, and are constantly struggling, they should only be referred to as a SQUAD.

Heh, a very close female friend told me a funny joke:

What do vegan zombies crave?

Grrrrraaaaaiiiiiiinnnnssssssss!

Wake..
I was more partial to murder, as in crows..

But the more I think about wake, the more I like it.

You have a wake at a funeral.
If you are dead, and you wake, you are a zombie.

they seem to travel in waves, like the wake of a boat.

I'm with Spacedoubt on this one. A 'murder' of Zombies seems only right.

I kinda' think the title of the thread already answers the question, don't it? A 'herd' of zombies.

I like murder, wake, lesion and excretion.

How about a:

"mausoleum" of zombies, or a

"cemetary" of zombies?

Or, last but not least...a

"funeral" of zombies?
