I said this before and I'll say it again: You want the best of both worlds? Have like 3 secret boards that can be brought into: 3,500, 10,000, and maybe 20,000. You can have all the inane idiots gunking up chit chat and all the genius and insightful postings you want... as long as you seperate the two fields. I know I'm going to run my board when I have one

dragonrider is a unique and valued member, the only man about town to claim membership in R.A.T.S., T.W.A.T.S. and Demods Club.

I wonder what will happen next.

In each case, these people were banned not for what they say about our topics, but for how they behave toward other members and/or go against Simon's Terms of Use. You'd be surprised to know that Tyler is here, he's been allowed back, and he's doing quite well. As are other personas believed to be banned.

It just seems anymore that it's too easy for too many members to get caught up in fabricating non-existent fictional mystery about the complex behind-the-scenes operations of this site... rather than focus on world events and the reasons they came here in the first place.

This is what I believe to be DR's beef.

I haven't been on in a few days but have been in contact with JediMaster, and what i gathered from his info seemed like a simple misunderstanding between DR and the rest of the administrative team.

Was I ever wrong.

It seems that the old battle of discussing hackers is what this is all about. "Deny ignorance" is our motto, yet our head administrator(referring to William, hate to say it but he has most of the power here) doesn't live by his own rules. Not only does he forbid the discussion of hackers, but he doesn't even let us know when an old friend(or maybe enemy, in the case of Tyler) is back under a new name?

It saddens me to see.

I couldn't get on ATS for half a year. Half a year spent trying to get on, deleting cookies and trying to get myself back on, and this is what I come back to? The same old stuff that I left behind in April has resurfaced. I had hoped that the ringing in of ATS 3.0 would bring in a new era of shiny peace.

Yet I was wrong. Proven wrong. William still insists that everyone is "hush hush" about hackers. I was against this before, and I'll be against it again. And because of his defiance of his own motto, this happened. A person who asks questions arose in the administration and William demods him. Just because he believes that someone was not a hacker, he is demodded. William, THIS IS NOT "DENYING IGNORANCE." THIS IS DENYING INTELLIGENCE, THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH THAT MADE ATS GREAT IN THE PAST. THIS IS MAKING ATS INTO A SOCIALIST REGIME BOARD.

In fact, I am against many things Jedi informed me of. I'm ashamed of the hero dragonrider who seemed like a good person. But does that mean I don't agree with him? Hell no.

William, you need to start going by your own rules before you preach about "denying ignorace." Period. Now the two of you just shake hands and get back to the old ATS.

Signing off,
HLW

EDIT: I hate repeating myself.

The Colonel becomes a super Mod and IS the trusted ally of William. The whole site has a liberal leaning and republicans become the minority...

Hmmm....

Notice that I did not break TOS? Notice that I did not attack others? Notice that I have not engaged in personal attacks?

Guess Im the first to suffer repercussions strictly based on the subject matter I was discussing.

And strange that I WASNT discussing hackers...

Sheesh, I guess nowadays all out attacks on your fellow senior-level members isn't considered a personal attack... and our precisely-defined reason for not discussing "W" in the public domain means it is okay for you to discuss hackers anyway.

I guess I must have just got upset at your level of discretion as a moderator for no reason.
