Two women disquised as police academy students detonated themselves today killing at least 36 people.

www.cnn.com...

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Two suicide bombers attacked a police academy in east Baghdad on Tuesday, killing at least 36 police officers and academy students and wounding 72 others, police said.

The incident took place about 12:45 p.m., the U.S. military said in a statement. Police said the bombers were dressed as police.

Seems like women may be becoming the new hidden weapons in this "war". Wonder if more women will not be used more and more.

It seems you forgot to read the whole thing you posted.

Earlier reports indicated the bombers were female, but the U.S. military said they were male.

But you are right to not underestimate the use of women as suicide bombers since its not new.

Yet the increasing use of women isn't entirely a matter of terrorist tactics either. There is a public relations game at work, too.

By sending these women to set off bombs, the Iraqi insurgency, or its backers, whoever they may be, are knowingly breaking down whatever frail, lingering barriers remain between combatants and noncombatants, terrorists and innocent civilians in Iraq. The war has come to this: Women killing women, and we can do little about it because we have not yet realized that women, too, can be capable of such an act.

The message for the US, and the rest of the world, is clear: Terrorism is not just a fringe phenomenon. Terrorists are not just strange young men huddled in dark rooms. Terrorists are high-school students, terrorists are women, and let's face it...terrorists are all around you. No one - not the old man on the bicycle or the young girl walking to school can be discounted. All Iraqis are potential terrorists, sad to say, and terrorism will never go away. Whether or not all of this is actually true is immaterial: The point is to make the coalition think it is, and thus give up, withdraw, quit the operation, or else undertake a massive and potentially disastrous change of policy as it relates to the search and seizure of women suspects.

The US will take another beating in the eyes of the muslim world when they are forced into strip searching females in Iraq. And that's probably the point.

Sorry, should've read slower.

Seems Al Qaeda has claimed 2 "brothers" did it.
Link

"Two brothers targeted the police academy that continues to train dogs which feed off the blood and honour of Sunni Muslims," according to an Internet statement by al Qaeda Organisation in Iraq. It could not be immediately authenticated.

How did the female/male Police hide the bombs if they were dressed in their police uniforms?

They wear blue pants and a blue shirt.
Don't they have any security measures when entering the Police academy building?

It was only a matter of time.

Perhaps this is a sign of desperation on the terrorists part....Could it be that their running low on suicide bombers? It could happen, their sure not gonna win the hearts-and-minds of the locals with these tactics.

As much as the Iraqis dislike foreign soldiers on their soil, I would bet they hate the Islamic radicals much much more.

Im sure our soldiers in Iraq will adapt to this new danger somehow....
