Hear ye, hear ye

Scientists, entrepreneurs, consumers all...

What is your favorite suppressed invention or technology? What is it that the world should have now, but it doesn't, because the short term profit motives of entire industries require that the thing doesn't get released?

Besides the lifelong battery or the eternal lightbulb, what OTHER things should we have already?

I have two favorites:

1. The orbital engine, invented in Perth in the 1980s (Ralf Sarich) with massively greater performance and efficiency than the standard internal combustion type, but suppressed by the auto industry to avoid having to re-engineer plant;

and

2. The dozens of technologies already available to get rid of the ridiculous input devices we use to communicate with despktop PCs, namely idiotic obsolete QWERTY keyboards and damned unergonomic meeces.

There must be hundreds we know about, there are a few websites and some mid-selling books on them. What's your favorite?

The all time classic: The car that runs on water and emits only fresh air. Some guy invented one in the 60's. They shut him down.

My personal favorite would be the MagnetoHydrodynamic propulsion systems. We know for a fact that they have been in continuous development since the 1950s, and that they are very well advanced in the form used by the USAF X Craft.

If this technology was released to the public/commercial sector, we really would have something similar to Star Trek by now!

Zzub, you mean Stanley Meyer???

Radionics should be more wide known. That should give a bigger impact on the world than the internet.
