A suicide bomber in Baghdad has attacked an army recruitment centre. At least 30 Iraqis have been killed, and at least 35 wounded. The attacker hit at 10 a.m. near the first of two checkpoints in Tal Afar, nearby men were gathering to apply for jobs, states army Capt. Raas Ahmed.
The blast occurred at 10 a.m. near the first of two checkpoints outside the centre in Tal Afar, where men were gathering to apply for jobs, said army Capt. Raad Ahmed and Brig. Najim Abdullah, the town's police chief.

On Tuesday, a suicide bomber plowed his explosives-packed vehicle into a crowded outdoor market in Tal Afar, killing 30 Iraqi civilians and wounding 45.

In August, U.S. and Iraqi forces conducted a major offensive in Tal Afar, 150 kilometres east of the Syrian border, claiming to have killed 200 insurgents and driving many others out of the small town.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

The second suicide bomber in two days, killing at least 60 people in total. Suicide bombers are un-stoppable attackers meaning more attacks are likely. This has become ‘standard’ news to hear everyday, which is very sad.

Well Operation Iron Fist and other offensives to cleanse towns in the area of insurgents sure cleaned out all those terrorists in Tal afar. .... Not

I don't think this has much to do with the elections at all. I think it has much more to do with the offensive and air strikes that the US military has undertaken in the region over the last 8 weeks. The suicide bombers have now sent a rather pointed message to recruits joining the Iraq forces to fight with the US troops.

A total media blackout was placed on the town by US Officials prior to these suicide bombings. Below is a picture gallery of part of the offensive by Us Led troops. Warning :graphic story and photos

Photo Gallery
BBC - Tal Afar

What I find worrisome about the above link is the fact it was filmed. A media blackout has been imposed on the town. Even if the media blackout began after this was filmed, why are the pictures public knowledge over the Internet? By the angle of the picture of the child screaming after her parents were killed, it was taken by soldiers or at least was public knowledge to the soldiers that the phot was going to be taken.

This image does nothing to enhance the US war effort in fact it is extremely bad publicity for the troops yet this photo is in the public arena by a respected news source. It doesn't make sense, something more secretive is going on in Tal Afar than what is being made public.

I have been following the Tal Afar offensive for many weeks now and it does not add up.
