Kommersant reported Thursday that the disposal list included 500 intercontinental ballistic missiles, 40 strategic bombers, 1,000 airplanes and helicopters, 84 nuclear submarines, 30,000 anti-aircraft and 5,000 cruise missiles, about 6,000 tanks and over 5 billion units of ammunition.

Probably not....

They are rusting equipment. Old tanks and weapons. Most are probably outdated.

Then again, if they sell them off, we never know.

The price of a T-72 is already $125,000. Bring it down to 75,000 and suddenly you could have a bunch of people with very neat weekend offroading vehicles.

Now that would be cool.

Somethings up here?

Is Russia becoming PC?

I hope that scrap means destroy, and does not mean sell to the highest bidder or given away.

I wonder if the UN will observe this scrapping?

Here is a link to a post about Russia scraping its Bio Arsenal

its all a ploy...for either the UN or USA to pay gobs of money
to destroy the armaments the Russians are willing to list...
as being potential black-market weaponry to terrorists.

the Russians are playing the world for suckers,
getting their enemy to shoulder the cost of the partial disarmament
