David Axelrod used to be a big name with the Democrats. He may still have some pull and influence. He has suggested that it's kind of late in the game but Joe Biden should drop out of the 2024 POTUS race. He did not say who should run instead.

I don't see Biden dropping out. I do see him being unable to finish another full term (4 years) as POTUS again. If he does 'win' ... and I think it will go that way ... I think Harris would be taking over shortly after the election.

Obama Advisor David Axelrod Suggests Joe Biden Drop Out of 2024 POTUS Race

David Axelrod, a former senior adviser for Barack Obama suggested on Sunday that Joe Biden should drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

Axelrod made the suggestion in the wake of a new poll showing the incumbent trailing former President Trump.

Pointing to a New York Times and Siena College poll published Sunday, Axelrod wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter: “It’s very late to change horses; a lot will happen in the next year that no one can predict & Biden’s team says his resolve to run is firm.”

Arguing Biden is “justly proud of his accomplishments,” Axelrod said Biden’s poll numbers will “send tremors of doubt” through the Democratic Party.

The poll found Biden trailing Trump in five out of six battleground states including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania by margins of 3 to 10 percentage points among registered voters. In Wisconsin, Biden was ahead by 2 percentage points, according to the poll.

The poll’s findings serve as a major blow to Biden’s campaign after the incumbent carried all six states in 2020 when up against Trump, The New York Times reported.

Well having such an old and clearly senile president should be a national security crisis already,
and a narcissist CEO as his most serious opponent is just as bad.
It's like we're living in a parody movie of the USA.

He's defied CW before but this will send tremors of doubt thru the party--not "bed-wetting," but legitimate concern.
-David Axelrod on X

This will be interesting. Would the probes into the Biden family stop if he dropped out? Would Gavin Newsome have enough time to try to fool everyone that he did a good job running Cali?

I think Joe has an ego to match Trump's, so for him to just up and quit doesn't seem to be on his agenda, but we will know in a short time.

Genuinely curious.
Do you just post everything you see in your morning Facebook feed here? You're rather busy today...

Interesting considering it is Obama who is pulling Biden's strings. Among other people.

Some choice.

A dithering old fart or mean tweets.

Humanity sure took a wrong turn somewhere, too much reality tv imo.

I don't do Facebook.

I don't know how much Axelrod and Obama are in cahoots anymore. At one point Axelrod was a big name and had influence. I don't know how much now. But I think it's significant.

I can't see Biden dropping out on his own. He doesn't even know how to walk around a stage nowadays without being escorted and told what to do. His wife would have to tell him it's time to drop out. She never should have let him run to begin with. If she cared about him, she would have put a stop to this before he ran this last time.

Here's some information on the NY Times Poll.

It's sounding like team Biden will need to invent some new ways to cheat if they want to steal another election.

Trump beating Biden in swing states – NYT poll

US President Joe Biden would likely lose a rematch against his Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, if the election were held now, according to polls from the New York Times/Siena College and CBS/YouGov published on Sunday. The New York Times poll showed Trump leading Biden significantly in five of the six critical ‘swing states,’ holding an 11-point lead in Nevada and smaller margins across Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Only Wisconsin favored Biden – and only by a two-point margin.

Two thirds of respondents said the US was moving in the wrong direction, and a majority across all demographics claimed Biden’s policies had personally hurt them. Nearly three quarters (71%) said the president was too old to serve effectively – including more than half of his own supporters – while 62% said he lacked the mental acuity for the job.

But is Trump just as bad?

Based on what measure.

Trump was a better POTUS than the one previous to him, and after.

Get over your personality conflict with a good POTUS, who would have been better were it not for the haters.

TV News this morning was talking about how Axelrod made this statement and that it is a huge deal for the democrats because he still kinda talks for Obama when Obama can't come out and just say things. I don't know why Obama can't speak for himself, it's not like he's running for office again and has to play the game or anything.
