The U.S. Capitol Police is evacuating its headquarters in Washington, D.C., as officers investigate a "suspicious vehicle."
A police dog "indicated interest" in the vehicle, which was located on the same block as the headquarters on the 100 block D St. in Northeast D.C., the department said in a tweet.
Police ordered the evacuation "out of an abundance of caution," the tweet said.
The Capitol Police are responsible for security in an around the Capitol complex, which houses both chambers of Congress.
