Nothing is ever that simple. With more people being armed, other types of gun violence increase.

An FBI report covering.....
Do you understand what this thread is about?
“The biggest problem that I have with (permitless carry) is that there is no trainer. So someone that has never picked up a firearm can go purchase one and begin to carry with absolutely no experience of safety or shooting that firearm. Which makes them more of the problem on the streets than making the streets safer.”
Yes, you want to do away with gun-free zones and have everyone armed and ready to fire at a given moment without any proper training or regard for how other types of gun violence will happen. But like I said, it's just an observation.

This is a pretty close to accurate description about my beliefs. Proper training is subjective yet I'm a strong proponent of firearm safety and use starting in elementary school.
Yet, this actually has nothing to do with the thread. Perhaps you should go read it as you insist on posting debunked information for an authority you are appealing to...

You understand that in the OP's source it shows how the FBI was manipulating data to obfuscate defensive uses of firearms...right?
If not, let me reiterate.
The OP's source is showing how the RBI was manipulating data to obfuscate defensive uses of firearms......
Lott’s findings and methods have generated scathing criticism from prominent academics, who have questioned his veracity and exposed flaws in his work. But the critiques have not diminished his stature. Instead, they have fed the conspiracy-oriented mentality of the gun-rights movement. In the eyes of its adherents, and in the messaging of the gun lobby and trade groups, attempts to discredit Lott are really attempts to suppress the truth.
In 2013, Lott founded the Crime Prevention Research Center, a nonprofit to support his research. He takes pains to stress his and the organization’s independence. In his statement in the California case, Lott wrote that the CPRC “does not accept donations from gun ammunition makers or organizations such as the National Rifle Association (NRA) or any other organizations involved in the gun control debate on either side of the issue.” The same language also appears in his books, on his Web site, and in other legal filings.
Yet Lott is a mainstay at the NRA’s annual meeting, where he typically conducts multiple seminars on his research and hosts a table on the tradeshow floor. In 2015, during the group’s convention in Nashville, Tennessee, he held one of the CPRC’s first fundraisers at a hotel around the corner. One of the speakers, a conservative celebrity author and radio host named Dana Loesch, would soon be a face of the NRA, alongside its leader, Wayne LaPierre. At the CPRC fundraiser, she said, of Lott, “We don’t have anybody else on our side that does what he does.”

Dude.
You can't illustrate a positive motive for owning firearms.
You should know this by now!
Dammit!
I'm going to have to report you for this!

It appears there is no other way to deal with the mass shooter problems because disarming citizens will, it seems, never be on the table. Let's hope everyone can do one good head shot because these shooters seem to put on bullet proof armor. Not sure why if they are planning to kill themselves afterwards or die by police.

You want to play this stupid game while still ignoring the premise of the OP?
Fine.

Nothing about the 2nd amendment, defensive firearm use or....training.
You're not a serious person.
But scientists soon challenged his conclusions. One paper, published in the American Journal of Public Health, warned that “the flaws” in Lott’s article were “so substantial, and the findings so at odds with criminological theory and research, that any conclusions about the effects of “shall-issue” laws based on this study are dubious at best.” David Hemenway, an economist and a professor of health policy at Harvard University, said that Lott’s paper “created a cottage industry of scholars analyzing the same data sources and largely refuting” its results.
But, during Lott’s deposition, when asked if the C.P.R.C. receives contributions from individuals who may be affiliated with the gun industry, he admitted, “I’m sure we probably get some donations from people that are in those things. But I don’t go and screen them.” He went on, “I draw the line in terms of banning an individual with their own money.”

Across states, researchers found that more guns equal more gun deaths looking at all 50 states in the country from 1981 to 2010.[11] This finding has been replicated in numerous other studies.[12] [13] Importantly, states with both lax gun laws and greater access to guns have higher rates of mass shootings.[14]
Follow the NRA money. This Lott guy has an agenda, big time.

More guns equal more deaths. That is true.
More cars equals more car accidents. I bet that's true also. Are you for banning cars?
2nd Amendment. Can't get around it.

Yeah and then an echo chamber to continue to not deny ignorance can flourish. If that is what all members here want then go for it.

What's the difference in training between cars and guns?
Find the stats that show the percentage of gun violence or gun crimes perpetrated by people with concealed gun permits.
I bet it is almost non-existent or at least a very small percentage.
