Multiple Ukrainian and Western intelligence sources reporting that Russian troops and key officials stationed in and around the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant have begun an evacuation that is raising fear of sabotage.

In response Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday Ukraine was playing a dangerous game regarding the nuclear power plant at Zaporizhzhia, accusing Kyiv of “pure lies” with statements suggesting that Moscow plans to blow up the plant.

It's also reported that many of the original Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia workers who refused to cooperate have been forcibly relocated to Russia along with their families, other remaining Ukrainian workers were forced to sign Russian workers union contracts and could likely be scapegoated as saboteurs by Russian propaganda.

Putin's "Endgame"?

If he can't win Ukraine, does he intend to "destroy" Ukraine by blowing the nuclear power plant?

That would certainly end any "value" annexing the country would have....

Save for the possibility that Putin could then claim the pyretic victory of creating a radioactive "barrier" against invasion by NATO and the West.

Insane.

Those behind it all, need a false flag so terrible, that the sleople will “demand” an equally terrible response. All they (tptb) need is the right spark, a very big and convincing one, mind you, because people are starting to get fed up, and are beginning to smell the bullcrap.

A war with a west-financed Ukraine is one thing, Russia has hammered Ukraine's available forces. But a War with NATO which is coming will require a different strategy. The West will either have to take up the fight or leave.

Ukraine are losing so it makes perfect sense that Russia are going to blow up a nuclear power plant they occupie.

Any chance they are leaving as a compromise in negotiation for steps towards a drawdown in this conflict? The IAEA is already regularly clearing the situation on the grounds and continues to contradict the statements of Ukrainian intelligence (an oxymoron at this point). This withdrawal could signify a turnover of operations??

Then again you probably still believe Wagner is going to be parading down Red Square and disappearing Putin, so it would not surprise me to see you sensationalizing a potential turnover of operations. The interesting part is if after time under IAEA, Ukranian, UN/Nato operations then there is some terrorist operation that is blamed on Russia.

I was feeling a July 4th national or international event of significance impending with the 250th anniversary of the USA. Things tend to fall on American holidays to begin with. Israel has a habit of launching air strikes on our holidays against its neighbors. Thats another thing I would keep an eye out for.

Maybe something happens soon?

This is just nuts.

If the daft bastards sabotage that power plant and it ends up blowing up/melting down.

Depending on what way the wind is blowing they may well end up irradiating themselves as much as Ukraine or the rest of Europe.

If the OP is true, fog of war and all that, could it have something to do with lack of cooling water now the damm has been breeched?

Apparently, the cooling water has indeed been affected with levels supplying water to the nuclear power plant continuing to fall.

Chances are the water is also full of a lot more sediment, debris, and the like.

IAEA says its fine, although they claim to need to see more for a thorough picture. I presume these would be the areas where the Russian military moves and operate within the compound.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts have so far found no visible indications of mines or other explosives currently planted at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), but they still need additional access to carry out further such checks at the site, Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said today.

The team of IAEA experts were today able to inspect parts of the plant’s cooling system, including some sections of the perimeter of the large cooling pond and the isolation gate of the discharge channel of the nearby Zaporizhzhya Thermal Power Plant (ZTPP). Both this channel and the cooling pond hold reserves of water that remain available for use by the ZNPP despite the destruction of the downstream Kakhovka dam more than three weeks ago.

The IAEA experts have also been conducting regular walkdowns across the six reactor units and other areas around the site. Access to further areas is still expected, including parts of the turbine halls and some parts of the cooling system.

As previously indicated, the IAEA is aware of reports that mines and other explosives have been placed in and around the ZNPP, including mines near the cooling pond.

“We take all such reports very seriously and I have instructed our experts at the site to look into this matter and request the access they need for doing their job. Until now they have not observed any mines or other explosives. Further access will still be needed,” Director General Grossi said.

As Director General Grossi said last week, no mines were observed at the site during his visit to the ZNPP on 15 June, his third in less than ten months. However, the IAEA has been aware of a previous placement of mines outside the plant perimeter, which the Agency has reported about earlier, and also at particular places inside.

What are the chances this is Putin's last trump card, they have been exposed. Russia boasted it didn't matter if the West supplied Ukraine sooner or later Russia might and determination would triumph. When actually all they have are terroristic threats on Ukrainian infrastructure, MOD, and their nuclear arsenal.

I've been so against such huge expenditures by the US but now we are so committed,

The West had such good actionable intelligence early on, here's hoping they are smart enough to try and stop this nuclear plant's destruction, if not we might see NATO fully engaged. Madness

That IAEA report is 3 days old... the news is from yesterday.

What news is from yesterday, the articles cited say July 1st and repeats months old claims of an impending attack on the nuclear plant. The NYPost article from July 2 does exactly the same thing, but now speculates the drawdown and personnel as a preceding act to bolster its outdated claim. Not only that, but its flat out wrong in a few statements as it says to date UN have not been allowed in, but the IAEA is a UN created agency and I just showed you in their own agencies website that they have been ongoing there for months with no sign of sabotaged or mined reactors or cooling systems.

The July 30th article from the Guardian also mentions a drawdown in staffing/forces and once again cites the tired old claim of nuclear terrorism and sabotage dangers, despite the fact it is Ukrainian forces who have repeatedly attacked the facility even just prior to the arrival of UN/IAEA inspectors earlier in the year.

The fourth link raises some legitimate concerns of force and coerced labor and violation of union rights is from July 1st as well. The subsequent Guardian article also from July 1st expands on the same topic as staffing shortages.

The only news is a drawdown in forces, which does not in any way contradict IAEA statements as they are still there ...

And these weekly regular Ukraine intel statements always seem to leave out the various times they have shelled and attempted to drone the facility.

Do we not want the Russians to leave the facility anymore?? Todays IAEA update goes into the plant being reconnected to its only off site backup power for first time since it went offline four months ago. No talk about the sudden appearance of mines. Maybe some more drones and artillery strikes are due.

I am hoping this is a military move-It could be that the Russians are worried that the Ukrainians are going to push back the front line, and as the ZPP is at the Northern most point of the front line in would make sense to get out rather than become an island surrounded by Ukes.
While they may well leave booby traps,I am not convinced they would want to destroy the reactors and cause huge radiation leaks,as that could just as easily cause huge damage within Russia depending on the wind direction.

Its crazy how one power plant can be used to hold an entire continent to ransom in times of war..
Its a true achilles heel.

Putin is not going to go to war with NATO. The Russian Army is in no state whatsoever to even invade Belarus. It's on its knees right now and things are not going well.

These are the same idiots who sent people into Chernobyl and then wondered why the men were getting sick after digging trenches in the Red Forest nearby. They are not well informed about things like radiation.

The russian army is doing fine.

Any involvement of NATO directly would mean the use of russian nukes.
