Second Russian Spacecraft Springs a Leak while Docked at the ISS

Spare a thought for Dmitri Petelin , Sergey Prokopyev and NASA's Frank Rubio who were expecting to leave the ISS in March until the ship they arrived on last September sprung a leak and lost all of its coolant , the earliest they will leave is estimated to be this September but that may be pushed back following another leak reported yesterday on a supply craft , Progress 82.

Progress 82's leak follows on the heels of a similar incident involving Russia's MS-22 Soyuz spacecraft, which carried three astronauts to the International Space Station in September and was supposed to haul them home again in March.

But Soyuz MS-22 leaked away all of its coolant on Dec. 14, a dramatic event that Russian mission controllers eventually traced to an apparent micrometeoroid strike. The vehicle is now unfit to carry astronauts except in case of an emergency aboard the ISS, so Roscosmos plans to launch another Soyuz later this month to take its place.

That replacement Soyuz, known as MS-23, will launch uncrewed. It will bring the MS-22 crew — cosmonauts Dmitri Petelin and Sergey Prokopyev and NASA's Frank Rubio — back to Earth, likely in late September.

That's the current plan, anyway. It's unclear at the moment if Roscosmos and the other space station partners will adjust it, perhaps to allow more time to conduct a Progress leak investigation and consider the implications of its results.

Progress ships are single use and designed to burn in in the atmosphere so the craft can't be brought home for investigation.

I've been following this long and recurring situation closely.
The conspiracy part of me wants to say sabotage. But I honestly don't believe it is. I think this really boils down to some gross oversight.
And man I feel really really bad for those brave souls up there.
I know I wouldn't be able to even handle mentally the idea of strapping my bum to a rocket, let alone be essentially stranded for the time being.

Pure bullcrap aimed to create the idea of a Cold War 2.0.... young people won't get this, but those of us who were alive before the end of the USSR know very well how the media lies and manipulates with everything the can get their hands on.

99% of the news are lies or a distortion of reality. Doubt everything. Question everything. Don't believe in anything you cannot confirm by yourselves. The media world was designed to lie to you permanently and keep you in a psychological prision. No one buys newspapers anymore, no one watches TV anymore, question yourself how all these media corporations that own the news channels make the billions they make every year?..... It's all funded by the governments and mega corporations.

They are not your friends.

The reason for the loss of coolant in the Progress 82 spacecraft is being investigated. The hatches between the Progress 82 and the station are open, and temperatures and pressures aboard the station are all normal. The crew, which was informed of the cooling loop leak, is in no danger and continuing with normal space station operations.

NASA specialists are assisting their Russian counterparts in the troubleshooting of the Progress 82 coolant leak. Officials are monitoring all International Space Station systems and are not tracking any other issues.

Bro, all good if you want to believe whatever they show you. But, you must accept, that we live in a world where these type of videos can be faked and produced. Specially from government agencies, such as NASA. I'm not a flat earther, the earth is clearly a sphere, but NASA is a government agency that has lied many times and keeps doing it (for example, with global warming and climate change). Again, governments are not your friends. Research Operation Mockingbird.

I said, trust no one and question everything you cannot confirm by yourself. But well, people have also the right to believe everything they are told or shown. I was naive once, for example when I was told that 9/11 was a terrorist attack, when in reality was an inside job. Where you put your trust is optional. I wouldn't trust these f*ckers at all, but respect if you do. [

If you choose to believe everything other than what you want to believe is fake that's fine with me but don't expect others to just accept your version of reality without trying to show you the error you are making.

Healthy skepticism is healthy , ignoring reality not so much.

Hmmm?... I don't expect anything from others, I simply gave my view and even said that I respect if others prefer to believe everything they are told or shown. I mean, I clearly wrote that, bro. Think what you want, you and everyone is free to do so.

Then, that you call "reality" to a video that could have been clearly produced and faked, makes me think that you are emotional invested into this and will not be even an inch skeptical about it. The reality is that that video could have been faked, unless you have a way to directly track that transmission to space and also be able to confirm that no one tampered with the artifact on purpose. Do you have that? Obviously not.

Again, I respect if you don't like questioning things, all good. Millions do that on a daily basis. Maybe my comment was not for you then, and all good with that.

Best.

as per your advice, I'm ignoring your advice, as you have no long term credibility or perceived knowledge. I don't trust you.

I'm totally ok if that is your opinion, really. Free will in all senses. I'm new in the server, I don't know if there is a blocking option, don't hesitate to use it if you can and want, for sure!

And I said it's fine with me , I clearly wrote that.

What you or I believe makes no difference to the fact 3 guys are floating in a tin can far above the world , Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing they can do ... but wait , this new leak may mean they have to wait a little longer.

Is that actually a fact? Can anyone besides governments confirm that there are 3 guys floating out there? If there isn't, then it's not a fact for you and me, just things that the government tells us. Just like when they tell us that the covid jab is safe and effective and that Zelensky is a great Ukranian leader. Are those facts for you too?.... What 'm telling you is something ultra logical, easy to understand.

And maybe there are three guys floating in space (probably), and still the "malfunction" you report could have been manufactured, just to create cognitive dissonance in the public. I find it strange that a person who is interested in space sciences get such a difficult time to differentiate what's a fact and what it's simply a version told by governments. Really, don't mean to give you hard time, just making some basic skeptical exercises here, sorry that it bothered you so much.

if there really wasn't three people up there, what would that change?

your quest to be relevant is kind of sad.

Yeah the same broke s*** that has been shuttling astronauts back and forth from the ISS for more than a decade now without fail?

Some of the smartest people on the planet trust Russian technology to keep them alive in space. Meanwhile morons on the ground thinks Russia has to salvage transistors from old washing machines.

Keep buying the "weak Russia" narrative being spun on the MSM. You are doing exactly what they want you to do. Spreading anti-Russian sentiment...

The fact that a coolant leak has occurred on two different types of spacecraft suggests a component fault , it isn't much of a stretch to assume that increased need for components and sanctions are effecting quality control.
