I am NOT going to pay 2 bucks for a McDonald's cheeseburger.

McDonald's Japan said Friday that it will raise prices on some 80% of its menu items on Jan. 16, in a sign of spreading inflation in the once deflation-plagued economy.

The price hikes will range from 10 yen to 150 yen. The move follows a price increase of some 60% of the products on the menu in September.

But the rising materials costs and a weaker Japanese yen have made it necessary for the fast-food chain to implement another round of price increases.

As a result, a classic hamburger will cost 170 yen, instead of 150 yen currently.

A classic burger cost only 110 yen before two price hikes, in March and September last year.

Prices will also rise by 10-50 yen for various "value sets" that include a drink and a side dish in addition to a hamburger.

A box of 15 pieces of Chicken McNuggets will sell for 710 yen, up from 590 yen

I'm sorry MusicisMagic, but i'm truely not appreciating why McDonald's making their....um....products at a more cost prohibitive amount is a bad thing.

What an I not understanding?

Weaker Yen, Inflation, whatever the excuse.

When things are good the price never goes down.

Hope they go broke.

There is a silver lining to inflation after all! This is one of the best things that could happen for the health of Japan; time to celebrate!

Russia did a good thing by getting rid of McDonald.

When will Japan stop importing and allowing McDonald?

Not associated with McDonals in any manner. The site was featured in a documentary about the scam McDonals is running against its franchisees, which compels them to buy a very specific ice cream machine with a poor up-time record, and then pay exorbitant "service" fee's to keep it running. TL;DR is that it's cheaper to lose the revenue than pay to fix the crappy machine.

Visited Milan Italy a few months ago on business, saw a huge McDonald’s sign in the fancy shopping area. Highly disappointing to see that. Doesn’t hurt my feelings if they go away.

However take my Waffle House in podunck south cackalaky and it’s game on.

$2 seems cheap.
I'd check my local place to post prices, but they won't list them online... They want you too install their "app" for that. No thanks...

edit:
I asked my wife, who apparently has the app.
The "classic" cheeseburger (which isn't on the menu but if you search you can find it) is $1.79, +8% tax
The mcdouble, which was $1 when obama got elected the first time, is now $3.79, +8%. That's probably the cheapest burger you'll see on the sign. They go up from there- I think the last time the two of us went there and got cheeseburgers it was something like $15, and we typically split fries and don't buy a drink.
Of course, the other option is to find a sit-down place and have a real burger- you'll pay $50 for two (minimum after tip) before you get out the door an hour later.

Good thing we can still buy meat.
For now.

Local store, the cheap bulk ground beef is $4/lb, the halfway decent stuff is $8/lb, and we're paying 10-12/lb at the local farm for locally raised cattle.

I expect to see all of these continue to rise across the board, since all over the world we've now seen a few years of farmers being given the shaft- being limited on the kind and amount of fertilizer they use, being paid off to plow fields under, being taxed out of business... all in the name of climate change activism.
I guess the upside is when half the planet starves to death, we will see a significant reduction in these rich windbags getting on TV telling us how bad our cars, food, and heat are for the planet from their private jets

lol, it’s the other way around dude… McDonald’s got rid of Russia.

They’ve apparently replaced McDonald’s with there own brand, which is probably far worse and no doubt breaks a whole lot of copyright infringement laws.

Waffle House grits rock and I am a Yankee from New York. Best grits ever.

Magic Grits

At McDonalds can you even by just a simple single hamburger any more? They push the McDouble which is decent but the price is extreme.

You think the covid jab is bad? You should see the ingredients of McDs hamburger meat.

Anyone that eats that crap, deserves what they get....

Maybe in your country the hamburger meat is crap... Here it's local Simmentaler Cattle, a good breed. Around 65 000 small and middle sized farmers in this country provide the meat. But I once ate in a McD out of the country and yes, that hamburger meat tasted like crap.

I am curious, do you think the vaccinated deserve what they get, too? Because you just compared the covid jabs to a McDs hamburger and looking at your final conclusion, I am curious about your consistency, when it's about people and stuff that is horrible for the body.

Leaves a bit of a sour taste.

Those windbags will be coming door to door or to your village green in a few years. You won’t have a television and you will be living it up in the neo-feudal era.

Get used to the idea of your son doing what you do as a job and your grandkids doing what he does.

Gurls better learn how to sew and weave, it’s coming and there ain’t nothing to do about it but wait for it to arrive.

I got the jab, I made the choice...I deserve what I get. I haven't gotten covid or any of the other spike protein effects of blood clots as far as I know.

I used to eat McDs. Now I don't eat at corporate franchised fast food places at all. Blessed to be able to afford something better.

As far as my consistency. Often I post BS just to see the reaction. Thanks for yours!!
