Wow, look how split we are now, this is insane.

I don't think we're nearly as divided as the numbers would seem to show. We're seeing the results of everyone -- including Independents-- forced to function in a left/right paradigm. When it comes to voting and just living, we have to choose one extreme or the other.

Most of us would much prefer neither extreme and don't much appreciate being stuck in the middle.
