RALEIGH, NC — Five people are dead, including an off-duty Raleigh police officer, after a shooting Thursday evening, according to the city's mayor. A suspect was in custody as of 9:40 p.m., Raleigh police tweeted.
"Enough... We’ve grieved and prayed with too many families who have had to bear the terrible burden of these mass shootings," Biden said, according to the Washington Times. He further called on Congress to "get weapons of war off our streets."
A suspect, described as juvenile white male, went on a rampage Thursday night in a Raleigh neighborhood. Authorities took him into custody on Thursday evening. The motive remains unknown and authorities have not yet identified the type of weapon used in the incident.
