You’d think they would have learned that it tends not to make much cash when they do this.

There is nothing new under the sun, it's all been done before, they just mix things up and rehash old material. This is the one of the biggest problems of the post modern era. The human race is on the downside of the apex of our creative potential, so things like this are all they have left.

its a safer investment to redo old stuff you know is already successful than it is to create new stuff from scratch, i wouldn't say our creative potential is on the downside, corporations just have too much influence in America.

Not sure where to put this story.
But they are indeed coming after your favorite, classic cartoon characters and replacing them by race swapping old characters from the mid 90/2000s shows.
They are changing characters, stories to whichever it fits the "Modern Audiences"
This whole swapping old characters from old shows "mix them, Interracial characters"
to push a agenda or narrative is not helpful.
If you dont like the show you would criticized as racist it's obvious what they are trying to pull with this and that is if it fails they would label and criticize the critics.
HBO Max’s adult-animated ‘VELMA’ series.

I would agree. I mean, if you think about it, what ethnicities and age groups even watch TV anymore? Certainly not the members of the "productive" class that I am familiar with. They don't have time.

Scooby doo is owned by Warner Bros.
As such its an asset and can be used to generate income. As they own the asset it's their right to alter it and if they choose to alter it so it's a more profitable and valuable product then thats what they will do.
I think this and other examples are far more about cash than anything nefarious or "woke"

Seems they already have a comment of their own for this discussion in the teaser trailer.
I'll admit it, I chuckled.
