Written by desert people tripping on psychedelics and then later became a major religion as those desert people became a nation. Then, as it spread other nations coopted it until there was enough discrepancies and other practices mixing in the high priests had to get together to decide what was going to be official.

If you haven't read up on the gnostic writings. Really neat stuff there like how the old god in the beginning of human creation was actually an evil god and stuff like that.

He was a power hungry, minor deity in a pantheon and who happened to get lucky.
Unbelievable that he has become the god of everything.

The bulk of the old testament reached its present form during The Persian Period. When Judah was a province in the Archaemenid Persian Empire. Written here in this time frame. But some writing is as old as 1200 BCE and as recent as as 165 BCE.

So many influences. The 'Jewish elites' that controlled the temple had the autonomy between Babylonian And Hellenistic control to get their canon together. And as the Persians were Largely Zoroastrian Judaism was tolerated. THE AVESTA EVEN INFLUENCED THE HEBREW DUALISTIC TEACHINGS through transculturation. As Cyrus The Great conquered the Neo-Babylonians, ended their captivity, and granted a return to Zion in 538 BCE.

The New Testament was written over a much shorter time period. Like within 50 years. With Thessalonians 1 and 2 (usually) being first and Revelation being last, which is almost always dated to around 96 CE (being most likely inspired by Domitian).

The Apostles, who actually existed (to varying degrees of writing ability) wrote the bulk of the New Testament Canon.

The inspiration to those writing is a matter of faith I guess.

But the answer to all is: Written by man.

Atheists also have a religion and that religion is science because atheism is also blind faith in the strange proposition that this universe originated in a cipher and aimlessly rushes nowhere. How can there be precise immutable laws in the universe but no intelligence?

God is either everything or he is nothing
It’s your choice. Choose wisely

Just a heads up on anyone questioning if Jesus of Nazareth was a real person I can confidently say yes.

I took a History of Christianity class in college for my minor course work and the class was a NON-Theological class on Christianity taught by an Atheist.

Now The Roman’s we’re crappy artists, the Greeks were
Much better but Roman’s we’re excellent bureaucrats and loved their paperwork and documented EVERYTHING.

Most historians agree due to the thousands of documents that the Roman’s kept on Jesus Of Nazareth that he existed. This is not debated anymore in historical experts circles. Now you all can debate the legitimacy of the Bible but one thing you can’t debate is the existence and profound impact this man had on the western world

The eternal truths and base teachings of Jesus are divinely inspired and stand alone untouchable regardless of what man has been able to screw up.

The Bible is mainly pure fantasy. Written and rewritten by countless people over the last 2000 years. Over that time of being rewritten and in so many languages, who knows how many times it's been changed either intentionally or accidentally. Personally, I think it's garbage and there are no god(s)

and still being talked about.

believe God wrote it.
why would He portray Himself as such in the OT and NT?

you can tell He isn't a democrat.

“Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)

You think man wrote what I told them to say? What is your problem with this verse? Don't you know the slaves become their master in Heaven? It forever. So how much you think the master's on Earth ought to treat their slaves? Are they doing God's will? Take care of your slaves. Those who are God's slaves are free
