In this topic, I offer you some of my photographs of Varvarka Street (улица Варварка).

Варвара is the Russian equivalent of the name Barbara.

October 19, 2017 - 12:32

This is a view from the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky (Большой Москворецкий мост; большой=big; "Москворецкий" is, as far as I understand, an adjective from nouns "Moskva River." that is, it means something located next to the river) Bridge.
This is Zaryadye Park (парк Зарядье; "Зарядье" means a place located behind [merchant] rows) on the left - www.zaryadyepark.ru...
and Moskvoretskaya (Москворецкая набережная) Embankment on the right.
Zaryadye Park was opened on September 9, 2017 - en.kremlin.ru...

This is Moskvoretskaya (Москворецкая улица) Street on the left.

This is a pedestrian crossing across Moskvoretskaya Street.

This is the Dome (Купол) pavilion in Zaryadye park.
It is the information center for tourists.

This is a Media Center.
As it says on their website "Soar over Moscow, take a trip through time and learn about interesting events in the city."

This is a house #7 on Red (Красная площадь) Square in the center.
It is St. Basil's (Собор Василия Блаженного) Cathedral - shm.ru...
It was built in 1561 (of course, since that time it has been repeatedly rebuilt and restored).

Previously, the Russia (Россия) Hotel was located on the site of Zaryadye Park.

This is Voshod or Voskhod (Восход; "Восход"=Sunrise) restaurant.
It is also the name of a series of Soviet spacecraft.

In Russian, the name of the structure in front means the Soaring Bridge.
Google Map suggests calling it the Floating Bridge.
The map on the Zaryadye Park website calls it the River Overlook.

There is a garden on its roof. Above the garden is the Glass Crust.
The Concert Hall was opened on September 8, 2018 - en.kremlin.ru...

This is a house #3 on Moskvoretskaya Embankment.
It is the Church of the Conception of the Theotokos by Righteous Anna.
The first mention in the annals of this church dates back to 1493. What we can see now is the result of the 1958 restoration.

This is Kitaygorodskiy (Китайгородский) Lane ahead.

This is a fragment of the Kitaygorod Wall, restored in 1973.
It is the second circle of defense of the center of Moscow after the wall of the Moscow Kremlin.
The entire territory between the wall of the Moscow Kremlin and the Kitaygorod Wall was called Kitay-gorod (Китай-город).
The first stone wall was built here in 1538.
"All the best! We are waiting for you to visit us again!"

The house #10 is the Museum of the Chambers of the Romanov Boyars (that is, the Romanovs lived here before they became the ruling dynasty) - shm.ru...
It was built in XV-XVI centuries. The museum here was opened in 1859.

This is a house #4A on Varvarka Street on the right.
It is the Old English Court (Museum). It was the oldest official representative office of a foreign country in Moscow.
As far as I understand, this building was restored in the 1970s in the form it had in the 16th century on the basis of historical and archaeological research.
