russia isnt doing that great.
the Russians might hold certain places but they can never keep them
and is Russia ready financially and morally to enter a 20 year war again like their own Afghanistan misadventure.

if Russia is smart they will stop and hold where they are now and say they won.
and over time Russia will just allow it to go back to normal via UN negotiations
The areas that Russia say they want just happen to be where most of Ukraine's vast oil, gas, minerals are too... But it was all for the poor Russian minorities...lol

Oh, that’s what it was all about
You mean that area that Kiev was at civil war with for the past 8 years, killing Russian speaking Ukrainians, that seperate state who was given autonomy and then attacked, those Russian minorities who were being killed so Kieve could control their wealth
So, poor Russian speaking Ukrainians don’t matter, it’s all about allowing Kiev control of resources
You should go back and reread your statement. 8 years Russia stood out, nothing, nothing till Kiev talked joining NATO

right all living normal lives, and most pretty nice like in Crimea.
i see footage from there before russia and its beautiful, it still is and that is because they need it for the warm water base
if Russia is so advanced why cant they finish this war off, and whoever was talking about urban warfare... that HAS been going on for 8 years.
as far as me and HRC even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Personally I don't think the Russian state gives a # about Russians never mind Russian speaking Ukrainians.

This has the feel of a 30 year delayed reaction to losing the Cold War.
The Russian state under Putin has been stewing with resentment for decades that "their thing" was a colossal failure back then. A regular nuclear-armed Weimar Republic mentality.
So now, 30 years after Ukraine said bye-bye to the USSR, Putin is taking out his rage on them for looking like they might have a chance of doing and looking better than Putin's Russia.
Lot of background color here, and it isn't attractive to look at.
Cheers
