My opinion is the flood story's come from civilizations that experienced Pangaea coming apart I would bet it came apart much faster then we are led to believe in History books .

People write down their ideas constantly, you choose to believe a story from long ago as fact & that is cool , but the fact that you know God won’t flood the Earth again is silly imo , based on a story that tells you God won’t.
What type of God kills everyone on Earth , but just a few ?
Will Dungeons & Dragon books become a religion in 2000 years from now when an archeological dig finds a copy of AD&D Player’s Manual , and someone believes it to be true ?

If you read the full creation and flood account you would have your answer.

The conditions for another world wide flood don’t exist.

That’s why the rainbow only appeared after the flood. It’s meteorological significance contained the promise that it wouldn’t happen again.

Next time it will be by fire.

Kinda funny how the rainbow has been co-opted by a modern movement that stands in total opposition to God.

It’s a shame that folks don’t take the time to read Genesis. It would answer a lot of the arguments that they present.

Why folks dismiss an ancient writing that starts out with a statement that God created space time and matter is hard to understand.

A lot of it doesn’t use modern terminology but if you take the time to think about what it is saying it’s quite amazing.

The most consistent argument against the global flood is that there is supposedly not enough water to have flooded the whole earth. As always, science is catching up to the profound truths present in the Bible. A recent study in 2014 (link) found massive reservoirs of water deep beneath the earth's crust. This reservoir is holding enough water to fill the volume of the earth's oceans 3x over.






One researcher was quoted saying:

"We should be grateful for this deep reservoir... If it wasn't there, it would be on the surface of the Earth, and mountain tops would be the only land poking out."

This is exactly what was said to have happened to cause the global flood. Not only rain from the sky, but also the reservoirs of the deep were opened and water gushed out onto the surface of the earth:

I did not mean it like that I got and understood your meaning, you are correct about Genesis as well but we need to see how the Jewish Rabbi's read it and for them every word is of immense importance and can have multiple meaning's.

Then also remember the importance of why it is written that way as well when the Bible code is taken into account if you accept that which I do, if it was written any other way the Code would not have come out in the way it does.

No offence taken LABTECH, “funny” was a bad choice.

Having a Lexicon and Concordance handy sure slows down the reading but understanding the meaning of the text better is well worth it.

The Bible Code seems to be one of many additional layers of messages left for us to discover in Gods Word.

Numbers, colours, names, all seem to be significant and used for a purpose.

MeatHookReality : Ancient people were limited in their travels , so when a large flood happens in their lands, it by default is their whole world .
Im not saying there was not a large flood , but I am questioning your proof that God did this as a punishment. There are thousands of books & tomes that have accounts of god (s) doing all sorts of things to Earth , people or the cosmos … Faith is required to believe them & faith is not proof , but rather a burden of proof from the faithful.
There is proof of Bigfoot , but I don’t modify my life or faith based on second or 200 generations prior hand information.
I believe in God , but I am not into proving God’s existence or ways by other’s accounts.

Well FWIW you dont have to believe Noah story to go to heaven, this is a big misconception. Not every story is a prerequisite to get in the club.

Of course the Way Truth and the Life in also in a book so youre probably not interested in the ways of God.

If that did happen, the world would be totally destroyed. As in left a totally barren lifeless rock for all eternity.

It would be as if 3000 10 mile asteroids smashed into the Earth every second for 40 days straight. Suffice to say i don’t think Noah’s Ark would’ve been to the challenge.

Pretty sure-fire way to permanently cleanse the world of sin though it must be said.

Doesn't that also contradict the main theme of the biblical story, all of humanity was killed except for Noah and his family?

Actually many of them contradict each other because they also claim a group from their civilization were the sole survivors. Obviously they can't all be right about that.

My absolute most favorite story from the Bible. I thoroughly enjoy reading about how a spiteful, vengeful God drowns nearly everyone on the planet.
