XL was to be an extension to the existing Keystone, and it doesn't even exist. It wasn't set to be functional until next year.

yes mate , but if the Keystone XL Pipeline had been continued then the ' Oil Futures ' in America and globally would be much lower and the energy crisis in America could have been largely avoided.

His policies hake it retarded for the pipelines to do what they were intended to do meaning his BS essentially shut them down by 50% I remember welding on them pipes and the talk of the town was how much less energy was going to cost in the expected 10 years it was going to take to complete these pipelines.

This is about one thing and one thing only:

It's a box to tick, so in November they can claim "See? We tried to lower gas prices! We...we tried!"

Why do they even bother? The administration and their MSM collaborators have already convinced the easily duped that the price of oil blowing a hole in the roof during the Biden administration is due to "Big Oil taking too much profits!"

CNN, AP, Reuters and ABC/CBS could put out stories claiming that cosmic rays have penetrated the circuitry of gas pumps, causing the price LEDs to malfunction and display higher prices, and their audience would believe it.

It won’t make any difference if there is no increase in refining. Refineries were shuttled when there was too much oil on the market. Selling it for less than $1/gallon wasn’t enough to remove supply and you can’t just flip a light switch to turn them back on. On top of that is the parts problem that we have all been experiencing. There is no way out except waiting for supply and demand to level out over time.
