Sent the link to both of you

You only need 4GB. I think the image is under 2GB, so you could probably even get away with 2GB

1) Use Rufus to make a bootable USB, using the .ISO image you download. Instructions in the link on the last post

2) Put the USB in the Dell, boot and Press F12

3) Choose the USB and press enter to boot from it

4) When Acronis Boots, select "Acronis Backup (64-bit with UEFI support)

5) When it boots, select Manage this machine locally

6) Then select Apply Universal Restore

7) Make sure your operating system is listed next to "Select OS"

8) Under "Automatic driver search" make sure "Search removable media" is: ON

9) Under "Automatic driver search" click "Add Folder", then select "Local Folders". Under C:| you want to add: C:|WINDOWS|System32|drivers and C:|WINDOWS|inf

10) Click OK and let Universal Restore run

It might come up with an error, saying that drivers can't be found. Click ignore if it does and finish

It will be fairly quick

Try rebooting and see if windows starts (removing the USB first)

Note:

Windows drivers for things like sound, Bluetooth, etc, might be messed up when you first boot back into Windows

This is because the driver stack was messed with

If there are UNKNOWN DEVICES, or devices with yellow exclamation marks on them listed in your hardware in control panel ...

All you need to do is right-click on them, uninstall them, then "Scan hardware changes" and let them reinstall

The only ones you don't want to do this to are SATA or PCI controllers. Everything else should be OK

You shouldn't need to do steps 6 or 7

You just need to make sure that:

Automatic Driver Search is set to On

The drivers for your hardware are already located in your Windows install, so it should be able to find them automatically

Fix Bootability with Acronis Universal Restore

Automatic Driver search?
Is that part of the Acronis Restore? It is hard to read those steps on my PC.

Ignore that post,

I wrote a much more detailed post, with every step you could possibly need, are the top of this page

Acronis WILL automatically search for drivers

But ...

In the more detailed post up the top of this page, I included steps where you specify the DEFAULT WINDOWS 10 DRIVER FOLDERS on the computer

That will ensure that Acronis definitely finds the right drivers when it searches

The reason I re-wrote the post and included the steps adding those folders, was to make sure we did it right the first time

You shouldn't NEED to add the folder locations for those drivers for Acronis to work, but it is can't hurt to specify them in case

Sheeez, can I join the WTH Did I Do?! club? I'm in the same boat, but I think my laptop's SSD went toes up. Can't fix jack, can't roll back jack, can't restore jack, can't Safe Boot, can't do jack but loop itself with the options that don't do squat.

I think I'm going to have to get a new SSD...

So, what did you end up doing

Happy ending!

Just did the PC Reset.
And it worked.
All my files intact, even to the desktop background.

Now t o get a toggle switch, and reset this reborn computer.

Much thanks to all!

For those who may read this thread wondering

DontTreadOnMe tried startup repair using a Windows 10 USB installation media

This didn't work

But "RESET MY PC" from the boot troubleshoot did work

Happy for you DontTreadOnMe 👍😊🍾
