NASA website shows up close Mars rover picture of clear doorway in side of hill

I just saw this on the NASA website. The Mars Curiosity rover has taken a very clear picture of what appears to be a doorway cut into the side of a hill. Unfortunately it appears the image upload function is not working, so you'll have to check the link.

did anyone check the size of the opening? I only ask as the old woman thing a few years ago looked really good until you find she was a few inches tall. I hope this isn't her door.

I would love to hear this explanation because to me this is pretty damn clear.

I would suggest the large chunk of rock near the " door " has fallen away from the slope to create the " doorway ".

Could be aliens though.

I have the impression it is rather small scale, but these images aren't up as pds yet so I don't think it is really easy to determine the size of things here.

Agreed. You can see a similar formation to the left of the photo without the chunk of rock missing.

If there weren't interesting and significant features in the vicinity, they probability wouldn't have landed Curiosity in that crater to begin with.

It is a rock fart, closely related to swamp gas.

Interesting to note that they occur on 'Mars'.

Looks pretty clear to me that it's a doorway. I wonder how TPTB at NASA( Never A Straight Answer) will try to spin this one...........?

I thought of that right away. Wouldn't this be a great time to expose NASA with all the other stuff going on in the world.

We've sent billions of dollars to Ukraine what is the total price tag for NASA only to find out they've been here on Earth all along, where did all that money go?

thanks, I think if it's a few inches tall, vs. 7 ft, that would say if it warrants more looking. it's compelling as a stand alone picture. But I'm jaded after Tom Biscotti did me wrong with the bigfoot thing.

Using this it's pretty obvious it isn't a door.

but there is what looks like a perfect vertical line cut into that rock on the right hand side of the image
you can see it pretty easily

whether its a natural line or not who knows , but it looks really like it was cut
