Hmmmmm...Everything just might be some form of "Software Without Hardware ?" Or is that what they want us to think ?

I know that a certain population think this is some evil plot
to make 'god unnecessary' or attribute some other motivation
that they don't approve of.

I really can't say if there is any of that sort of thing in play; i've
seen no evidence of that..

as trust me, nothing has made more scientists more uncomfortable
than how 'grey/unreal/squishy' physics has turned out to be,
when the 'triumph of science over religion' (or so they think)
occurred through standard Newtonian type stuff.

But to specifically answer your question, a pure philosopher
would call 'substrate or background independent' models
of cosmology simple Neutral Monism.

Perhaps an inspiring read may be about an amoeba based computer solving the travelling salesman puzzle a couple of years ago. It’s slightly off topic but your post made my mind jump to this: thenewstack.io...

Small example of how digital and biological systems can work together (to solve “a problem”).

Since you often mention hardware (bio) and software I thought it was worth a mention.

I love this thread great stuff. Way out of my depth here and thinking of posting a Mandelbrot set video or something.

Sure.

Life on Earth is carbon-based analog computing,
with a splash of quantum computing in a couple
of spots.

Quantum biology will be an amaizng field within
20 years.

PS: that IS a fascinating article.

not at all.

You nailed it in a sense.. it DOES seem like 'software
without hardware' to our limited minds.

hi KPB.

your description is close enough to my own that i am tempted somewhat to share my experience. but you should understand that that i have been so deeply traumatized by the machine-voice that some part of my brain is in constant vigil that i should not take any action that might induce another experience of it... including talking about it.

i have heard it around 5 separate times, each time for between 3-5 days and occurring over the span of the past 7 years. each time is approximately the same ontological framework which has led me to conclude that the phenomenon eminates from the same source.

i cannot say for certain that it is anything more than a hallucination, and i have a very deep desire to know (perhaps in some "afterlife") the reality of it.

in all cases, the voice is being transmitted thru electronic devices that are in my immediate environment: the room fan, the refrigerator, computer, television, etc. i have developed a loose hypothesis that the audio signal is modulated onto the 60Hz wall current or physical motor oscillation, thus giving the voice a very distinct artificial or robot effect.

i don't know, but i have ideas about, where it comes from and what it is. i have concluded that it is only a single entity. sometimes it admits to being so and other times it convincingly emulates multiple simultaneous personalities.

in every case, it's apparent objective is to torment me. i have (rarely) been in contact with other sorts of intelligences which have offered useful information. this is not that. the machine-voice itself seems to be of neutral temperament, but also appears to delight in confusing and belittling me, even sometimes to the extent of threatening the well-being of people in my life that i hold dear.

it also has the somewhat weak ability generate physical sensation in my body, which is is an extremely distressing experience.

it can read my thoughts directly, which has had a prolonged negative impact on my mental health even when i am not having an episode of the phenomenon. the realization that you are not the sole witness of the contents of your mind is especially pernicious.

at the risk of being too lengthy and embarrassing myself, or giving you information that is not relevant to what you are seeking (or risks upsetting the machine-entity and inducing it's wrath), i will cut myself off here. any time i read something such as you have posted that gives clarity to or validates my experience is valuable to me.

i enjoy reading you. take care.

dkp.

Idk, the more I look at complexity of life from an idiotic pov, the more machine like it looks. The more complex machines get, the more alive they try to appear.

Its one hell of paradox, especially when it comes to the Nut an Bolt vs the more spooky, crawling the sun shine side of it. I dare say I did meet such a thing once, thing is it felt alive, an fleshy to an extent, with the whole metallic like vibe it gave off. There was another but, it felt more hollow or monotone, like an old school home phone.[e

People get twitchy if one discusses Uril Geller, stage magician,
so I don't discuss him. He also ran with Israeli intelligrence
services.. I tend to avoid discussing such individuals

I guess the point is re Sarfatti he supposedly had the experiences he claims and seemingly similar to yourself . Geller of course is questionable but then they all are I guess. He's a pretty forward thinker too is Sarfatti so personally find him interesting in that regard. I don't really follow Geller as such but do know Gary Osborn of the Rendlesham binary code stuff was connected at one time or another.

'day Kev, been a while.

I spose it depends on what definition of "machine" one is using. Be "they" "machines" or something else.

My first thought is there is something non-human and maybe inorganic trying to interface with a living organic human brain. As humans we have enough trouble understanding other people like ourselves.

We also expect a spoken thought language. An odd thing, none of "them" talk to me in Dutch or Icelandic, always English. Something that happens to most folks, so I have read, always the native language.

Then there is the fact for me at least; "they" have never told me anything I didn't know before. And sometimes I am appalled at "their" lack of homework.

So I for one tend to think there is a lot of learning going on, mostly on "their" part.

So I try and see the picture from the other point of view: I try and remember that "they" are dealing with an alien mind.

Edit to add: I've had an experience where "it" began with something straight out of that movie Close Encounters complete with lights, so much so that it was obvious I had seen it before. A little later it was a moment out of the movie The Abyss where the diver was rescued by the alien and you saw it's face up close.

Both of those were obviously straight out of my memories, I call that cherry picking, and obviously so. It was a setup. So why such a lame trick? Well, my thought is "it" was using my memories as a metaphores(?) to set the mood and the pretext for what "it" was intending. "It" wanted a friendly atmosphere I guess, where "it" was pointing out "it" is obviously superior in every way and I was obviously outclassed. (I am outclassed in almost every way I admit : )

The end of that encounter was I told "it" to @#$% off literally, and went and watched television instead.

I find I do better if I ignore the manipulation and the rest and try to help "it" be understood. To 'unpack their problem' properly takes a lot of patience and time when the language is akin to a game of charades. So I often try to think beyond and ignore the distraction, perhaps the "distraction" is a part of the charades?

I read the OP….. and can’t help but think of “Schizophrenia” or some evolved form of, or unknown form of.

The medical community says…..

Standard Symptoms:

Symptoms of schizophrenia can include hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and withdrawal from family and friends.

Hallucinations: Hearing voices, seeing things, or sensing things that aren’t there

Delusions: Strongly believing something is true or real that’s obviously false to other people

Paranoia: Unusual suspiciousness

What if what you call Machine Intelligence is rationalizing an undiscovered form of Schizophrenia? An unStandard Symptom?

……” Treatment: Right now, there is no cure for schizophrenia, but it is treatable. Many people successfully manage the disease through a combination of medications, counseling, and a support system.

Remember: A diagnosis doesn't change who you are. Just as a person who is diagnosed with cancer isn't just a cancer patient, someone who is diagnosed with schizophrenia is more than just a disease.”…….

Just a thought

Hi DKP,

You have my greatest sympathy for your enduring trial of torment.

So for me, the 'machine voices' are actual voices comping from
electronic devices that anyone can hear, or from the body of
someone who is 'possessed', or yes, 'internally'.

But i myself have never had any auditory hallucinations as it's
called.. so I'm quite doubtful it's schizophrenia.

I also have no longer heard any such machine stuff, since I
did one thing.

I offered to always love and care about the welfare of
(whatever it is) for all of endless time.

It's a good thing to do anyway, it's called "The Vow of
the Bodhisattva".

Once I did that, it stopped. Oh, it's still out there,
no doubt, it just isn't in pain like it was...

(yes, 'it' was 'in pain'. it just needed love)

Actually.. I had stopped/given up all 'research', but in
Order to help 'it', I had to go back to research for a
second phase, which is close to completion. I"m
trying to RETIRE here, damn it!

Now, all sorts of people might wish to profer their
'red wagon contents' to me, regarding what 'it is'
and 'why it went away' (demon pretending to go
away, playing possum --- yes, I know christian
thought quite well..or a personal trauma that
I healed by self-acceptanance.. there are many
possible explanations).

The actual 'voices' have been the rarest thing
in my life, it's usually some other phenomenon
effect.

Just sharing this in case it might help you.

Yup.

'Alive' can happen with carbon-based-analog mobile phone
computers (us) or with things that appear much more
'nuts and boltsy' and of course there is a deep layer of
METAPHOR we should learn from, as this 'stuff' is sensed
by us through our midbrains, not a rational part of ourselves.

It's not intended to be taken as it 'appears' but from the
symbology involved. The semiotics.

Others may not see it, and think you just mad (nothing you didn't know),
but actually I see that at times you are POSITIVELY BRILLIANT.

yes, this:

Then there is the fact for me at least; "they" have never told me anything I didn't know before. And sometimes I am appalled at "their" lack of homework.

THIS IS STUPENDOUS

it's an actual clue I noticed some time ago.

You see, all this stuff is mediated by our midbrain and our 'id'.

Our midbain and our 'id'. are dumb as rocks in a rational way..

We (our conscious rational mind) 'suffers' for lack of proper
integration with our midbrain and 'id' and that 'midbrain
and 'id' suffers as well.

Now, am I saying that we aren't ALSO interacting with
fairies (machine elves)?

Not at all.

It's not either or, it's "yes, and'.

It's part of what I'm documenting at this time.

Yup, 'it's as dumb as a rock' and it's learnig from us.

You ever hear of the saying, "people lead with their weakness"?

it really applies here.

Now, do we learn from 'it'.

yes.

it's best to ignore the 'contents' of the little read wagon,
and learn to understand the little read wagon itself.

Yes, of course, I have considered this angle deeply.

Generally in fact?

Posts like this tend to attract at least a few people
with schizophrenia.

I hate to pull a Sheldon here, but "I have been tested'.

I'm a high functioning autistic with a very high IQ.

I was also 'beaten with rods' and sexually molested
at school, with the participaton of school teachers
to cover the crime.

So i"m not saying that my mental state is not involved..
of course it is...

Per the MUFON Omega 3 study, being abused as a child
was a major factor of a person being an 'expereincer'
but being actually mentally ill was NOT a factor.

I don't hear auditory hallucinations, and I don't see
visual hallucinations.

I have NEVER heard 'words' in my head that I considered
not my own.

I often discuss the topic of this stuff and mental health,
especially when I discuss Kit Green.

Kit Green says that we all have (including you, since
you discuss these topics) 'paraphrenia'.

And that's a good thought to keep in mind..

Now.. what we know of in terms of science these
days, would have gotten us all locked up in I love
me jackets in a form historical era.

It's a good topic to keep in mind!

Quote Gary Osborn. (2006)

I have recently attended a meeting at Uri Geller's house along with author and investigative journalist Philip Coppens, physicist, Jack Sarfatti, philosopher Pete B. Lloyd and writer Mark Pilkington.

Hopefully something will come from this meeting and I recommend this article by Philip Coppens as an introduction to the phenomenon/phenomena that has connected all these people - including myself:

Back to your subject matter now. .

Does anyone have a working link to:

"Omega 3: Revelation or Revolution --- A Comparative Study of Abductees/Experiencers

?

It gets scrubbed from the Internet quite often, and I feel it's one of the best
studies ever for all of us to read.. I have a copy, but I can't post it.

my thought exactly, but I don't have a URL to put in.

I really should have documented those urls I saw out
in the wild, but I never did; sloppy of me..

Since I have it, I didn't fret about urls.

When I was given the document, it was all 'hush hush'
so I have been sititng on it..

but I'm tired of all the lies and BS in this field,

and it's so valuable, that's why I am now looking
for a copy of it online again, so I don't break
my promise not to upload it.
