First, I consider myself a Catholic not a Roman Catholic. I reject what men have done to twist the faith over the years. Many people have used it as a control mechanism. And I’m sure when Constantine did his thing that it was to control the population. As I stated in another post, if that was the intent they screwed up massively.

By conquest, they introduced Christ to every nook and cranny of the world. And yes they used religion as a club against indigenous people, and exploited that terribly for personal gain.Still the word of God spread far and wide. How else could a small middle eastern cult have such a massive following today.

The Roman Catholic Church is an extension of the Roman Empire, the Vatican is the Roman Empire. It has lost much of the influence that it had 2000 years ago, but it never went away.

Now to the part about idol worship. Not really true. This comes from how Catholics view Mary and the saints.The mother of God is highly venerated. And yes we pray to Mary and the saints. We do not worship them or their likeness. You can pray to anyone. Prayer is a request of sorts. A respectful request for them to put in a good word for us so to speak. Once again we do not worship idols. The statues serve as a reminder of faith, we don’t worship them, that’s just flat wrong.

Personally I only pray to God, and I reject the plans of Rome. The evil they have done has nothing to do with the faith.
And the faith is rich in good works. I know there are Catholics that just don’t get it. Many others don’t get it. They are only looking at the surface.

Many blame the faith because of what happened in the past. I can assure you that Catholics today reject all of the crimes of the past and present. keep in mind it is our children that have been molested and abused by priests, not yours. Believe what you will, but you can take this to the bank, God will punish evil in all its forms in time.

I can’t convince anybody that is interested in bashing Catholics, seems like they have their minds made up. Just like the had their minds made up with the Jews in WW2. And believe me my faith is a death sentence in some countries, and I expect it to get much worse in time as people have no respect for each other anymore.

Jesus' body was said to be dead for 3 days before Resurrection. Lazarus' body was said to be dead 4 days before Resurrection.

So their Gods (Souls) must not have been dead yet, because they somehow got revived.

Based on these stories from the Bible, it appears to me, there is just a small window of time between when one's Body dies and when one's Soul dies.

I don't find any reason to have faith in life after death based on these stories.

A body is only a container for you’re soul. I believe that our only purpose here is to prove ourselves. To see if we deserve to go on. If we can’t follow the rules here, there will be no afterlife. That my friend is true death, the absence of being.

What comes after for the faithful, is a spiritual existence, so wonderful that we can’t possibly imagine. We don’t have the tools to understand this in our mortal state. The only way to get there is to die. If we’re lucky, sometimes we get the slightest glimpse of what’s to come. The only thing to fear about death is being rejected by God.

Advance to what, what is you’re goal for humankind? To live longer? This world sucks royally for the majority of people, why would you want to prolong that?

Looks like we're going to have to agree to disagree.

Death must be feared. I cannot argue with that pure innate instinct.

But there may come a time, when one must be brave enough to fight to the death, if it is necessary to live.

Revert back to " Arrogance " The same way you pointed the finger at me saying that I'm arrogant believing we are all God and will find out just what we are a part of once we pass the threshold .

Probably better to listen to your God than my God though. They say change comes from within.
